The TP-Link RE450 connects wirelessly as well as wired to the router, enhancing and extending its signal to areas it cannot reach on its own, achieving a speed of 1.75Gbps with a range of up to 900 square meters.
The RE450 from TP-Link comes with next-generation Wi-Fi technology 802.11AC, which is 3 times faster than 802.11n speeds. The RE450 provides fast dual-band Wi-Fi speeds of up to 1.75Gbps, delivering reliable connections for tasks such as HD/4K streaming, lag-free gaming, and large file downloads.
By pressing the WPS button on the router and the RE button on the RE450 within two minutes, they will connect to each other. Once the connection is established, you can move the RE450 to the location you have chosen for the best signal transmission.
The smart signal indicator reads the signal strength from the router to help you place the RE450 in the ideal position.

A pretty good extender. It does its job and more. I have connected it for 2 weeks now and it works at the right temperature without disconnections. The 900 sq.m. it claims is definitely for an open space without many obstacles. With a 50-inch view, I have 35MB/s on 5G with a distance of 4-5 meters and 3 walls in between from the router. The installation is super easy!
Too many disconnections, too many though!! I have to reset it twice a day and even when it's working, the speeds are just bad, it doesn't deliver on any of the promises unfortunately.
The best model from tp-link 450 has an amazing range of 80 to 100 meters without obstacles. It has been installed on a high floor in an apartment building and it catches signals from 100 meters away from the router. It provides around 30% signal strength at 100 meters. If you want to extend the internet very far, this is the only option. I have also tried the 200 series, which heats up during midday and has interruptions because it is meant for a security camera; it barely catches signals at 30 meters intermittently. The 300 series performs quite a bit better, but it still has interruptions. I reached the 400 series, and the 450 model not only meets my needs but exceeds them, reaching up to 100 meters. I recommend it if you want to extend your internet. I have placed it 20 meters away from the router on an external balcony on the 6th floor, and it reaches down to the ground floor with 25 to 30% strength from the 100% that the router outputs. Its price is €48 when it is ready to ship; usually, there is a waiting period of 4 to 10 days if you want it ready to ship, it goes up to €60. Be careful, there are four versions: 1, 2, 3, and 4. I have the 4 series, but I don't think there is a significant difference from the previous ones. The tests were done with version 4. I have compared it with the 200, 300, 505, and 650 series, which have very good ratings, but none have the performance of the 450. I consider it the best from the company up to the 650 series. The 650 is a monster; it is one and a half times thicker than the 450, but only in thickness. It has 4 antennas instead of 3 and is meant for much higher speeds, but in terms of range, the 450 is better! In any case, I don’t need more than the 1,750 speed that the 450 provides; the 650 has a speed of 2,600
A useless product is not worth buying.
As a two-year owner, it worked correctly for one month, then problems arose.
It did not give IP to devices connected to it until after a restart.
I did everything to make it work correctly (manual IP settings) but nothing.
It was recycled and replaced by another company's product at 1/3 of the price of the TP-Link, and I solved the problem!
If you want it for gaming, I don't recommend it at all, it lags a lot and the speeds it reaches are very slow
The worst thing I have bought. Unfortunately, it is very complicated to connect and I did not expect it because I had another model from the same company in the past, this was the most problematic product! Initially, it does not synchronize correctly and when it does synchronize while I am next to it, it does not even reach the speeds that the provider's router will reach (Optical fiber 100mbps), also a known problem for this specific model is that it does not operate both 2.4 and 5ghz simultaneously for some reason, no matter what I tried, they never turned on simultaneously and only 2 out of the 3 LEDs it has would constantly be on. I have tried everything, searched for updates but there was nothing, I expected it to be the company's top product if not the top then one of the best, also it does not have mesh while several cheaper ones have. Finally, even on the 2.4 or 5ghz, when one of the two channels synchronized, I still had a problem because it constantly lost either the password or completely disconnected from the network.
Too many disconnections, after a year of operation it has become problematic! I have to unplug it twice a day and even when it's working, the speeds are simply bad, the company's support is non-existent. Look elsewhere because you will cry for your money as it is not cheap at all
Having used both, it bypassed it and invested in the RE550, which supports both mesh networks and has a greater range.
Problematic band at 5GHz. The mobile phone couldn't connect to the 5GHz wifi, and when the 5GHz band was active, the desktop computer connected via ethernet lost the network. The range is typical, like that of a 20-dollar device. The only reason to supposedly get it is for the 5GHz and gigabit ethernet, but they don't work.
This WiFi extender is worse than useless. After turning it on, it works great for about an hour with excellent speeds on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Then, the 5 GHz band drops and I have full bars but no internet connection. At this point, the 5 GHz light on the extender is off. Somehow, even though my wireless router shows the working 5 GHz band, I don't have internet on the 5 GHz, only on the 2.4 GHz. I use the TP-Link app to disable the 5 GHz so it works on the 2.4 GHz because I can live with that. Restart the router and now I have high speeds on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Baller. Give it a few hours and the extender has reactivated the 5 GHz band again and I still don't have internet on the 5 GHz from my router. Disconnect the extender, restart the router, and I have perfect WiFi on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz for days.
The best I can understand is that this is some kind of technological zombie that keeps coming back from the dead to kill my 5 GHz signal. It's time to destroy its brain and be done with it.
It has been one year and two months since I have been experiencing constant disconnections. Even though it appears to be working, I have no signal.
In the third quarter, it started shutting down on its own. It worked for a year and then stopped.

Poor quality of the portable signal, stopped working after 1.5 years. It's better to look for another one.
A good friend of mine gave it to me as a gift. I am incredibly satisfied with the result and for the work that I need it for.
It was purchased for around €69. I thought that at this price it would be worth it as a device.
In practice, it completely disappointed me... Its only good feature is that it had an easy and fast installation.
Its drawback (THIS IS ALSO THE MOST IMPORTANT): It does not connect AT ALL beyond 5-6 meters from the router, with only one obstacle being a gypsum wall. The router itself reaches 75%... Total failure! Choose something else...
I gave something more and I calmed down. The previous one (from the same company but obviously more economical) was constantly turning red and I had to move it closer to the router. This has nothing to do with distance.
Although the stability of TP Link applications and the reliability of the hardware are very good, this specific one made it difficult for me to set up, while at the same time it does not extend the existing SSID but sets a new one - possibly a technological limitation in all repeaters of this category but it adds complexity. Beyond that, the range and stability are very good, and a plus is that it can also be used as an AP.
Well, I installed a 100 Mbps fiber to the home and the technician who came to connect it also sold me the router! The router is in the living room and the modem is in one of the rooms in a 100 square meter house. I don't know if it's better to go for a mesh system with this money, but this setup is hassle-free and practically invisible if you set it up correctly
Through the tether application, which you simply download on your mobile, you can easily connect even if you have a router that does not have the wps button. I installed it, it synchronized immediately, and the signal is strong even with closed doors, even on the other side of the house.
It is the fourth range extender I have tried.

The RE450 V3 is by far the best extender I have tried. In terms of performance, it reaches places where the others couldn't. It is easy to use and even easier with Tether. I use it as an Access Point and everything works perfectly.
I have a Xiaomi Infra Remote Controller that couldn't connect to any extender until now, even if I placed it on the extender's antenna.
As soon as I bought and set up the RE450 V3, everything worked flawlessly!!!!!!!
At the price of €54.90 that I bought it, it is worth every last cent
I have bought it here for six months. I consider it to have far better coverage compared to other extenders I have installed.
It is the second TP-Link Extender I have, the other one is the RE305, from which I have been very satisfied. So I preferred to stay with the same company and choose this particular model, which is one step above what I already have. And I didn't regret it!
Very stable, with a very strong signal and very easy setup (same as the majority of TP Link Extenders). It left me with the same excellent impression that the RE305 has left me. It is of course bulkier but this has to do with the many antennas and the stronger signal. It occupies a large part around the socket and is quite "tall" compared to other extenders. Its range is greater and highly satisfactory especially considering that I only use the 5GHz band and the 802.11 ac protocol (WiFi 5), which penetrates the walls of the house more difficultly but is ideal for transferring large files on the network and for 4K hardware. It connected seamlessly to the router, has not had any interruptions, and I noticed a difference in data transfer compared to the RE305 (with a very weak signal at the other end of the house and with many obstacles, it does not drop below 500 mbps). The 1000 mbps ethernet port is very important (!) for anyone interested in using it as an access point (only this and the more expensive RE650 from the same company have a Gigabit Ethernet port) or to connect a device with a cable. Overall, TP Link has good support on its website, however, it has the criticized practice of providing firmware upgrades for 1-2 years at most (rarely) but then essentially abandoning the model and releasing a new one with just the next version (e.g. v4, v6, etc.) providing upgrades there only. For this reason, this particular extender never received firmware to work in the TP-Link One Mesh ecosystem (instead the company released a new model). Although at first I was torn between this one and the much more expensive RE650 from the same company, I ultimately did not regret it at all.
I believe that at the price of 49.90 euros, which I bought it for, it is one of the top extenders on the market for the average user in terms of quality, stability, and ease of setup. The advanced user who may want more settings may look for something else, but I believe it will satisfy the majority of users. I have also used it as an access point connected directly to the router with the same positive impressions. Its greatest asset is the range of its WiFi signal, which for me is better and more stable than a Fritz!Repeater 2400 that I have at home. If someone wants something stable, reliable, they simply choose this.
UPDATE 30/3/2024: The extender is flawless, I don't need to say anything else. Solid as a rock and with excellent performance. For two years I have been using it as an extender exclusively on the 5 GHz band connected via wifi to a wireless router that is connected to FTTH optical fiber at 100 mpbs. The speed it gives me through speedtest is consistently above 100 mpbs and usually 103 - 104 and without being below but in various points in the adjacent room. I am satisfied with its range but it plays a role that I only work on the 5 GHz band and there are many walls in between. Ideally, it should wirelessly connect to a router or extender - access point from the same company otherwise it may have some signal interruptions. Compared to a Fritz extender (FritzRepeater 2400) at double the price, the TP Link definitely has a stronger signal and penetrates walls better, it is much more stable. A very good machine, it will not disappoint anyone, the only extra feature I would like it to have is the ability to create a Guest Network. The main negative is that TP Link stops support relatively soon with firmware updates.
Easy setup. Through WPS, either through the Tether app or the traditional way through a computer. Power schedule to not emit when you're asleep. Notifies you with color if the placement position is correct. It is fast. I am at least satisfied (coming from TP-RE860v.1). Two bands, you choose which and how many you will have in use. Buy it!
