The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most widespread and has a long range. The 5Ghz provides higher speed than the 2.4Ghz but is more sensitive to obstacles (e.g., walls) that reduce its range.
This difference, as well as its more limited use, helps it to have fewer interferences from other networks. The repeater can offer up to 2200Mbps in total to the devices connected to it.
In practice, the actual speed shared among devices is closer to 400Mbps. Indicatively, a high-resolution 4K movie requires approximately 25Mbps. The speed that each connected device will have depends on the distance, obstacles, how many other devices are connected, how many other networks are in the same area, etc.
It is Wi-Fi 5 generation, the most widespread Wi-Fi standard, which can meet the needs of most users for now. There is now also the next generation Wi-Fi 6 that offers the ability to connect many more devices to serve the ever-increasing smart devices in a home.
The connection via ethernet cable offers a speed of 1000Mbps (also known as Gigabit), which is the maximum speed that ethernet can support.
It is usually found in professional environments where the transfer of large files (e.g., high-definition videos) is a common occurrence, and in repeaters that support correspondingly high WLAN speeds.

Fantastic, it does exactly what it promises. I have bought two, I have set them up for 2 months and they haven't disconnected even once. I struggled with small extenders with frequent disconnections and very low speeds. This particular device delivers whatever speed it receives with fantastic range. I have placed it on the first floor and it covers the ground floor and the second floor excellently. Highly recommended if you want to get rid of disconnections and poor speed quality! Worth every euro
Very sophisticated, one of the best on the market, it is very large, sturdy, and of good quality. The plug is Schuko, while the 450 is a simple bipolar and thick. It has very good range, around 80 meters in a straight line, but for me, the 450 covers my needs and is almost half the price of this one. The speed on the 450 is 1,750, while this one is 2,600. If someone really needs to go that high, prefer this one. The power consumption while it is working is 6 watts, while the 450 model is at 3.3 watts. Very easy installation and very easy reconnection; by unplugging it and plugging it somewhere else, it connects automatically in less than a minute. It heats up a lot, just like the 200 series, because it is adjustable peripherally and from the back side
Excellent in everything it should do. The only negative for me is that it is bulky and insensitive, and unfortunately it gets better signal in a visible socket. This annoys me, but it can be overcome... I would prefer a more discreet shape and not emit so much blue light.
I have been using the small extenders for 1 year now. I constantly had problems. The main problem I faced was that while my router gave me a speed of 40, the extender only gave me 1.5. Sometimes even less than 1. After restarting the router and the extender, I had okay internet for a few hours, but with a speed of around 8. I got frustrated and after reading the reviews about the RE650, I said I will buy it no matter what. Since I installed it in my house a week ago, I have had excellent internet. No disconnections, no restarts on the router. It solved my problems. The speed it gives me is almost the same as the router.
I got it to connect the cameras in the parking lot across from the house! I placed it on the balcony and it reaches 25+ meters across! Amazing signal!!! Of course, when walls are in between, it's logical to lose signal! In an open field, however, it captures flawlessly
Impressive range and performance! The router is in the garage, the extender is in the living room 8m away with a wall in between, and it has signal everywhere in the rooms! Even in a second room with 2 walls in between. I am truly impressed!!! The line reaches 50mbps and in the second room, I get 46mbps!!! The connection is very easy, the instructions are very clear. I haven't encountered any problems anywhere!
For the past 5 years, I constantly had issues with the small TPlink repeaters. Periodic disconnections every 40-60 minutes, forced restarts, network errors, and slow speeds. Since I got this beast, everything has been resolved. Not a single disconnection, 20% faster speeds. Truly worry-free. 100 euros may not be a small amount, but if it's for work or gaming, it's worth every cent.
The best thing I have bought. I really had a lot of issues with daily disconnections and frequent restarts with the small extenders from tlink to get them working properly every day.
With this beast, I have no problems at all, no disconnections for a month now, no decrease in internet speed, and full signal in the house, which is two floors (190 sq.m). It's really worth the money
It entered as a replacement for the RE450 with almost half the range in a house where the router (also TP-LINK VR400) is 10 meters and 3 walls away and 20+ and 6 walls away from the bedroom. Although the 5G signal is weaker, it provides 2+ times the speed compared to the 2.4G. It is recommended to prefer the 5G.
Next to the RE650, I get 98 Mbps!!! on a 100 line (109.999 is provided by OTE via NOVA) - (10 meters from the router) while in the remote bedroom it's around 65. Not bad considering the loss is about 30% at a distance of 20 meters with multiple walls.
I suggest you also get a TP-LINK router so that you can share the application.
I faced many problems with my network connection, constant disconnections on wireless devices, terrible wifi range, frequent interruptions, and slow page response. All of this was due to the provider's crappy router.
Initially, I thought about buying a decent router, but due to VoIP, the prices of those specific devices are sky-high. So, I had to make do with 20-30 euro extenders just to solve the range issue. However, all these devices did was create more problems as they only worked well for a short period of time. After much frustration and annoyance, I decided to make the leap and go for something powerful since everything else was literally garbage.
First, I set up the RE650 v2 as an extender (4m away from the router) to make sure I would get signal in my room. But then, I realized that not only did I get an excellent signal in my room, but also throughout the entire house and the downstairs floor (120sqm x2). Now that I was sure the device was not just a simple extender but a beast, I decided to use it as an access point by connecting it to the router via Ethernet and disabling the router's wifi. Besides solving the range issue, I also stopped experiencing all the other problems I had.
My overall conclusion is that if you want peace of mind, then invest in the RE650. It's worth every penny. If I encounter any minor issues, I will definitely come back.
First contact with the RE650 v2 today and I am completely satisfied! It connected very easily to the router through the Tether app and all devices have a strong and uninterrupted signal.
The repeater is located one floor below the router (3-4 meters away, with interference from a reinforced concrete wall) and in a speedtest (wifi) it delivers 41/50Mbps. I will come back later to comment if it experiences any disconnections.
Owner of 5! Tp-Link WA860RE - the cheapest product with many disconnections!
and a Devolo Wi-Fi Repeater+ ac which I consider the worst out of all the repeaters I have.
