The refugee crisis is a crisis within the crisis. The book captures snapshots of this burning issue, which is constantly evolving, in unreadable conditions. In this fluid environment, the book contributes to understanding the particular dimensions and nature of the phenomenon called the "refugee crisis" in Greece, since the spring of 2015.
The book is a product of research, administrative and political engagement, as well as on-site presence in geographically critical points for refugee flows from Turkey to Greece and from Greece to the European Union. Its main objectives are:
- Depicting the real administrative and legal situation in Greece regarding refugee flows.
- A substantial assessment of the reasons that have shaped and continue to shape the field of dealing with the refugee issue, in the conditions of the Greek crisis.
- Identifying the structural deficiencies in the management of the refugee issue in our country and focusing on the EU strategy.
- Finally, formulating proposals to the Greek side, with the aim of a feasible proposal for humane management of the phenomenon.
