I always wanted to have a horror game in my collection. I did some research and concluded (May 2021) that I would get this game, since Village hadn't been released yet, and this one was cheap. I had heard very good reviews about this game, in fact many say it is excessively scary.
The good things about the game:
-The gameplay is excellent. It is perfect for this game, with the target and weapons, which reminds me more of an RPG. In a good way though.
-For the year it was released, it has very good and realistic graphics. And now it's good, but in a few years, I doubt it will look as beautiful as it was on the first day, if you understand what I mean.
-The story of the game is perfect. The plot is so good that you will easily get hooked just because you want to know what happens next.
-As a horror game, it must be terrifying. And indeed, if you don't know what's going on, it will really scare you. I have played other horror games and have been much less scared.
-It has some extra stories as DLC, one of which is free (where Chris Redfield goes to kill Lucas).The bad things about the game:
-In some parts, you don't know what to do, and it's extremely difficult to guess what you're supposed to do. In the "Mia" videotape, for example, which in my opinion is the most difficult, I had to search how to pass it, I couldn't figure it out on my own.
-The story is nice, but I would have liked it to have a bit more. Just two things: being able to confront Lucas even if you can't defeat him in the regular game, and seeing what happened to the Baker family.
-It would be perfect if the character, Ethan, could run a little faster.In summary, Resident Evil 7 is one of the best horror games out there. With a very good story, everyone will get hooked and, of course, be very scared. Honestly, it took me a while to think of the negatives, as the game is so well-made for its time that even if it were released today, with slightly better graphics, it would be perfect. I highly recommend this game only to those who truly want to be scared. To those who can handle and love horror games. If you don't belong to this category, I would advise you to reconsider whether or not to get it

Did you find this review helpful?A very good game.. There is no one who plays it and doesn't like it.. Yes, it is in first person but it suits it.. I don't know if they should have called it Resident Evil or not.. I know that it is a high-quality game and I definitely prefer it over the mediocre 5, which wasn't even a resident, and the completely terrible 6.. Two games that were not really resident, they just took characters from the series. So, you should definitely give it a try without fear!

Did you find this review helpful?Very good effort from CAPCOM to finally return to the roots of SURVIVAL HORROR. Very good and terrifying atmosphere and excellent graphics. However, the second part of the game is not as good as the first, as the real "villains" of the game disappear and are replaced by the Molden, who are not very exciting. It's worth playing through on MADHOUSE difficulty, but afterwards there aren't many other things to do like in previous Resident Evil games. Now that the price has dropped significantly, it's a good purchase.

Did you find this review helpful?After my experience with Resident Evil games, I can say that RESIDENT EVIL 7 is the best I have ever played! Of course, we shouldn't forget the epic 4, 5 & 6, which are not horror but are among the best games ever released! As for the camera, I won't say much, but I prefer the First Person camera of RESIDENT EVIL 7 over the "static camera" of 1, 2, 3, 0 & remake! RESIDENT EVIL 7 has it all, fear, mystery, puzzles, pure survival, and the minimal action required!
