Looking back in history, few countries can boast of being there from the beginning. How they marked with their presence the first steps of human civilization. How they gave meaning to the initial searches and explanations of many initial doubts. One of these is certainly Greece. Another, however, is Azerbaijan. Buried in the highlands of the South Caucasus and spread over the valleys that surround it, reaching the shores of the Caspian Sea, it is historically intertwined with the legends and experiences of the majestic mountain range. One can easily form the question in one's mind, why a book about Azerbaijan? What connects Greece with this relatively remote country of the Caspian? Geopolitical, historical, economic, and cultural issues bring the two countries very close, arousing particular interest in the researcher. Thus, unknown facts are revealed to many, which suddenly bring to the forefront bonds and interests that are great and significant. Azerbaijan is globally identified with energy. Its geographical position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, the Caspian Sea that encloses its eastern shores, and its unlimited potential in energy reserves make it a critical factor in ensuring energy security for Europe, the countries of the Black Sea, and the Central Asian countries around the Caspian, as well as for the whole of Europe. The major international players are currently looking towards Azerbaijan and see a serious and sincere country with long-term economic and political visions. This adds to its significance and role in a region of the world full of upheavals and uncertainties.
