Inner Mani around 1900... In a place and time where the strength and "wealth" of each family are the male children, a powerful family decides to marry their son, against the usual customs, to a girl of lower class.
When years pass and she cannot have children, the unwritten law of Inner Mani imposes a second wife, a "syngria", within the same house, who soon brings the long-desired boy into the world. However, things do not unfold as everyone expected.
