Their union is a legend, their life an epic. Their story begins on a Paris metro platform, with a love at first sight between the daughter of a Wehrmacht soldier and the son of a Romanian Jew who died in Auschwitz. Witnessing former Nazi criminals gaining positions of responsibility, they embark on a long-term struggle aimed at delivering justice. They will hunt down fugitive Nazis, such as Alois Brunner or Josef Mengele, and bring many, like the infamous "Butcher of Lyon," Klaus Barbie, to French courts.

At the same time, they undertake a monumental task to preserve the memory of Holocaust victims, for which they will be decorated by the French and German Republics, as well as the State of Israel.
