This lens is the kit lens for the m50 & m50 mark ii. However, if you are thinking of buying it separately, don't do it! It is a beginner lens and one that cannot justify the price, which is around €300. Because while the lenses at this price point are not very high quality, you can still find much more worthwhile lenses from Sigma, Samyang, etc., for about fifty euros more.
Pros:
* Good sharpness
* Large zoom range that covers the two major spectrums, the wide and the nifty fifty.
* Good build quality
Cons:
* Large f-stop deviation from one zoom stage to another.
* 3-5f would be much more worthwhile if it were at 2.8f.
* Not smooth zoom at all.
* Very small focus ring, to the point where you can't attach a follow focus.
* It's so small that you can't rig it or even put a matte box on it.
Although I use it less frequently, I have come to the conclusion that this particular lens is both value for money and necessary for anyone who has an m system. The only negative aspect it has is the large and variable f. Nevertheless, it is quite sharp at larger f. Otherwise, it is very good in everything it promises.
The lens kit of the M50. It does everything above average, but it doesn't stand out anywhere. Ideal for trips, celebrations, and everyday photos. Someone who will get the camera for amateur use will not be disappointed by this lens. But as soon as they start getting more into the world of photography and have higher demands, they will find it lacking in several aspects.
The classic kit lens of Canon mirrorless. Faithful in color reproduction, sharpness, and moderate detail (e.g. foliage), and not particularly fast due to its maximum aperture of f3.5. However, I haven't been able to find any serious flaws. It is quite lightweight and compact, but unfortunately, the competitive standard zoom lenses from Panasonic & Olympus are even smaller and lighter. The image stabilizer is very good, allowing for handheld shots even at 1/8" shutter speed with a steady hand, so you can still get great results even at night.
It is the basic kit lens of the camera (m50). It is okay as a lens but really needs to be changed since it has F3.5. Because many of us cannot afford to spend money every now and then, it is better to save up and buy a good lens, even for starters according to your needs.
The lens kit is quite good, moderate sharpness, color accuracy, very compact with the m50. It is lightweight overall with any Canon mirrorless and compact. The range is ideal for all moments (wide-zoom), but be careful with the zoom at night because f6.3 is quite dark, resulting in high ISO (even in RAW, editing is difficult, experience is needed for good results). The shutter speed is indeed kept low due to lens stabilization and body EIS, unless you need to photograph objects with speed, where this value increases, for example, from 1/25 to 1/100. For a start, it's okay, later on, try the 22mm f2 Canon or the 7artisans manual focus for lower prices. I will review when I have more contact and experience with this lens/lenses. Timelapse in 4k with the lens at 15mm f3.5 wide is a dream, whether it's a sunset or in motion with lights, people, etc
