The Gloom: Adds one player and 55 cards to the game. In the card game Gloom, you make your eccentric family of misfits suffer the greatest possible tragedies before helping them pass on to the well-paid respite of death.

Mix the 55 transparent cards in this new set with your own copy of Gloom to add:

• New morbid modifiers
• New twists and untimely deaths
• A new family - the malodorous Malone mob

The Broken Arms Hotel is also included as a residence card for use with the Unhappy Homes expansion. When Boils Malone brought his family overseas to "escape the heat," he didn't expect so much rain!

The new persistent effect icons on the cards add an extra layer of strategy, allowing their special effects to remain active even if covered by another card. A persistent effect ends only when the character it is attached to is killed.

Additionally, there are five Unwelcome Guest cards inside. Deal one or more face-up in the center of the table at the start of the game. A living guest immediately moves to join the family of the character on whom one of their "scandal" cards is played. All of their modifiers move with them and they are considered a member of that family until they move again. This can delay the end of the game if a final play draws a Guest into the family of the would-be winner.
