I have had it for over 10 years (now 11), it is simply excellent. I have changed the battery once and now I will have to change it again. Also (because some did not understand), when the battery is low, it lights up along with the green LED and the yellow one to notify you that the battery life is not what it should be. As for the settings, it has various functions depending on your needs, anyone who knows how to read the instructions can easily adjust everything (knowledge of Morse code is not required). I consider it an excellent light fixture (with a somewhat high price) both in terms of functionality and appearance.
The remote control used to be included for free with the device. However, you don't need to worry about it. All the functions that the remote control has can be done using the side buttons of the light fixture. The truth is that the setup can be a bit complicated, but if you read the instructions carefully, I believe you won't have a problem.
Regarding the comments about the light staying permanently on when you don't need it and turning off when the power is cut or a fuse blows, it is true when you buy it for safety reasons. There is a black bridge on the 3 pins of the light fixture, as you can see in the photos. This bridge is there to provide power to the battery when you first purchase it, otherwise it would be completely empty inside its box.
As soon as you unbox it and take it out of its box, and after you open the side decorations, you will see the bridge on the first and second pin, starting the numbering from left to right as you can see in the photos. Simply pull the black bridge upwards and place it on the second and third pin. As soon as you place it, you will see the LED light on the right side turn on, as well as the light fixture itself. When you make the connection, the light fixture will turn off and will only turn on in case of a power outage.
According to the store, it is by far the best light fixture in terms of battery life in case of a power outage. As for the design, I can confirm it as well compared to previous light fixtures.
I also confirm the comments that have been written so far regarding the side decorations that really decorate your wall at night. However, if you don't like the lighting or find it too intense, you simply have the option to deactivate it.
I am also sending you the wiring diagram. The cable that has power (brown in my case) goes to L and the other one goes to N.
The lighting is not so intense though, it resembles more the last photo.
I have had it for about 10 years, I bought it for 60€. The battery still lasts half an hour after all these years! I don't think there is anything better in terms of beauty and autonomy. As for the settings, don't get too overwhelmed, it may be a bit complicated, but you do it once and you don't have to deal with it again. It also works as a night light with automatic shut-off with daylight. The 5 stars are not enough
I have had it for seven -7- years now. Apart from the battery performance, which doesn't last as long during power outages (normal due to its age) and needs replacement, it is an excellent emergency light, with wonderful ambient lighting for the night.
After 2 years, it has permanently stayed on standby and turns off as soon as the power is cut (the opposite of what you need). The battery is likely to be broken. Extremely complicated adjustment with a single button that essentially requires you to learn Morse code. Avoid it. The only positive thing is its appearance.
I am completely satisfied with this safety light.
During a recent power outage, it lasted for 3 hours and if the power hadn't come back, it would have lasted even longer.
The design is amazing, it's no coincidence that it has been installed in the new Vasilis & Eliza Goulandris Foundation museum.
Personally, I don't like the blue light on the sides, but it can be turned off with a 28-second (exactly) press of a button.
Okay, it's a bit pricey, but for home or office aesthetics, it's the best.
I wonder about the other reviews. 5 stars from me.
Update: The battery is the A-931/HT and it's recommended to replace it every approximately 5 years.
After five power outages, it only holds a quarter (from about two hours initially) ...
Beautiful for the house and easy to install, I just bought the remote control as well, which you can open and close whenever you want and activates the sensor that reads the brightness of the room and automatically turns on and off, but it doesn't work well, the commands are slow and it does tricks, otherwise very beautiful design...
update
Now the remote control turns on and off at will, it doesn't respond and stays on, ohhh the command lights receive signals from the TV remote control as well...
