There are many tragic and other significant events that I have covered journalistically during my long career: multiple shipwrecks, kidnappings for ransom, hijackings, bus hijackings, antiquities smuggling, deadly and devastating earthquakes, major fires with tragic consequences, plane accidents, multiple fatal car accidents, various accidents with many victims, as well as many other cases that we remember as children and adults.
I experienced all these cases included in the book up close. I always reported from the scene where the events took place. I recorded every noteworthy development. I informed readers and viewers in simple words about what happened, how it happened, why it happened, the consequences that followed, and any significant aspect that was of interest.
I tried to do the same in this book. An objective account of what I saw and experienced on journalistic missions, without any trace of exaggeration, without any trace of magnification. In short, it is a summary of all the major events that have shaken public opinion in the last thirty-five years.
