The primary concern of social workers operating in the field of education is the equal access, inclusion, and active participation of all students in school by removing structural, ideological, material, and psychosocial barriers. Particularly during periods of economic and social crisis, the action of social workers focuses on preventing manifestations of stigmatization and rejection, as well as cultivating a spirit of coexistence and solidarity.

This collective work includes multidimensional perspectives for the assessment, prevention, early intervention, and management of problems related to school dropout, unstable attendance, low performance, and social marginalization of students in general and special education. It focuses on means, methods, and intervention techniques for restoring the functionality of children and young people in their environment (family, school, and social), as well as evaluating these interventions. It includes good practices for the inclusion of students with Asperger's syndrome and other disabilities in general education units, and presents interesting interventions that have been implemented with the aim of the school integration of children from Roma communities and ethnic minorities.
