The book is wonderful, wonderful. It takes you on a journey. It is a 600-page dense masterpiece and I read it in 5 days and as soon as I finished it, I read it again! Its flow is amazing, it never gets boring, it makes you want to read more from the same author. When I had to leave it aside, I would take it with me in my bag. I have never done this before for a book. Now I am writing this review because I went on Scroutz to find all the books by this specific author. I highly recommend it! Congratulations to the author!

Having read many books by Rena, this book was an occasion to congratulate her once again. The author, this time, like every other time, chose to "grow" her characters. She embraces them from the moment of their birth until their old age, even until death. This is something I really like in her stories. This way, there are no unanswered questions for the readers. This particular story took me to Crete. Thanks to Rena, I gained a lot of historical knowledge about the Battle of Crete. I traveled with the Orient Express alongside Valeria. Thanks to Rena, my Rena of the heart, I learned that even if two people "separate" and live far away from each other, fate will always bring them together in any way possible. Close to Valeria, I learned what happiness means. Giving, sharing, and offering things and goods to people in need is a blessing. Offering any kind of help is joy! Infinite joy! Nicholas, thanks to his determination and willingness to learn about his roots, taught me the value of truth. It liberates you as soon as you discover it. Once again, the value of maternal love was emphasized. I got angry, saddened, and cried with Valeria's mother's behavior, and I was moved by her father's love. I admired the words of Nicholas' father! Words that only a father says to a son! Words that even the best poet would admire! The duo Valeria-Nicholas is one of my favorite couples in her books. I am truly happy that the value of love and romance has not been lost in our time. And we see this incredibly well through Rena Rossi's books. In no case should we question the fact that (most) books reflect reality. Finally, I am surprised by the fact that this particular book is based on true events. This is something I greatly admire in my Rena. It is quite difficult to put yourself in the shoes of so many real people and experience what they experienced, feel what they felt, and see the events through their eyes. My Rena managed to do that! Oh, how much I would love to hear this story from the mouth of that elderly woman who told all of this to the author! It would be truly wonderful! I am sure it would have moved me as much as the book did! My beloved Rena Rossi Zairi deserves many congratulations.
