Description

In 1980, a man is found dead on Moose-Lookit Island, off the coast of Maine. He has no identification on him. The identification of the body happens a year and a half later, by coincidence, but still, no one can say for sure how he ended up there and whether his death was an accident, murder, or something stranger... And this is just the beginning of the mystery.

Now, two elderly journalists recount to the young student Stephanie McCann, who is interning at the island's newspaper, the story of that dead man - "The Colorado Kid," as he came to be known. A story full of gaps, questions, speculations, and unexpected twists, centered on the very way myths are created and the nature of mystery.

Reviving the genre of pulp fiction novels that flourished in America from the '40s to the '60s, Stephen King masterfully tells a story about the darkness that lurks in the heart of the unexplained and the drive that compels us to explore the inexplicable.

It was my first contact with the author and books in general. I never used to read, but I made the decision to start randomly. I have to admit that I really liked it and I will definitely continue to read books from this author. The book, of course, I consider it wonderful, simply short, and I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants to start reading this kind of literature

It is a very beautiful story. However, it is not a story to find the solution to the mystery, but to see the course of the whole crime with assumptions along with the protagonists. The book is about the journey and not the destination. Stephen King, this amazing author, tells us why he wanted this story to come to the forefront at the end of the book, and I think that if you are open-minded and open to new ideas and things, you will understand and accept it. This book is about the characters, their three are something indescribable while one complements the other literally. However, you must enjoy it as much as you can because it is a relatively small book. I read it very hastily, I would say, I finished it in one day, the first time I finished a book in one day. Maybe I should have enjoyed it more, but one thing is for sure, I will not regret it, as it was also a very economical book for the difficult hours of quarantine. Get it and I don't think you will regret it. I recommend it!

Either you will love it or you will hate it... personally, I really liked it, both the way it tells the story and the emotions it leaves you with in the end, as well as many unanswered questions...
