What is language? What is its relationship with the mind? How does it refer to the world? How do linguistic forms (words and sentences) have meaning and what is their meaning made of?
Language is the lens through which we see the world and the bridge of communication between us. But how is it possible to understand others or interpret their communicative intention? Are there criteria for synonymy or criteria for translation? And what is the relationship between truth and interpretation?

This study is an introduction to the philosophy of language from a historical-systematic perspective.
