If you leave this umbrella alone in the sand, you mistreated it!!! I believe it was made to marry.... the Hammering stake! At least use the plastic screw, which is also cheap!
Maui 2.20 + Hammering stake + 3 tied ropes (2 facing the air and 1 on the opposite side) = the umbrella will perform miracles...! You will sit back, drink your freddo, and watch the spectacle around you as people chase after umbrellas, even in the sea! Many of them will end up collecting and leaving in the end!
Personally, only the 2.20, not even considering smaller ones, it is more sturdy and has thicker plastic ribs, it's not worth it for 10€. It is for 3 people, but if someone wants to lie down in the great shade it provides and you want to put a cooler or a bag, then you need a second one!
The Mykonos blue is code 1560 for the 2.20.
* In the photos, you will see that I married it... with the 32mm Hammering using its own handle for extra stability. However, the 30mm is its regular one, so you can remove its handle.
Tips: I tied small hooks to the ropes with great ease in the heat for easy attachment and detachment.
* We know its weak point! The RECALL! Personally, I don't even touch the recall button.
* Its fabric is thin! So I never leave it in the sand!
* Let's not forget that the umbrella was made to protect us from the SUN, NOT THE WIND!!
* The last time you use it, wash it externally with fresh water, even 2-3 bottles.

The reclining mechanism is a joke! It broke with the first gust of wind...those who claim here that it is reasonable to break at the slightest, while quality and durability are advertised, probably have money to spare or own shares in the company...a simple umbrella I bought from Sklavenitis is cheaper and still holds up! And we're not talking about a storm but a simple breeze...shame on you!
Hat genau 2 Strand Besuche gehalten. Ist sein Geld nicht Wert. Die extra bestellte Erdbefestigung ist top, aber der Schirm hält keinen moderaten Wind aus. Hoffentlich bekommen wir unser Geld zurück.
For windy beaches, the pegs are essential. Beyond that, the material on the top of the umbrella can scratch very easily. Also, some seams appear to be problematic but are holding up for now. Excellent shading and easy to use.
Nice umbrella, very good shade. It had a piece of paper stuck to a seam and was faded on the outside in a couple of spots. Good construction. To withstand and not break, at the point where it breaks, I removed the plastic nail from the lower pole and pass it all the way up to cover the mentioned spot. Together with a 32mm pole, it becomes quite sturdy.
The best umbrella, perfect shade and without the sun burning you. I have bought 2 and it provides perfect shade for the kids without them getting burned!
Satisfactory umbrella for the money (I bought it on sale for €27) and it served me well all summer along with a sturdy pole and two ropes with pegs. Ideal shade for 2-3 people max, tested in moderate winds (3-4 bft) it didn't move at all. When the package with the order arrived, it is true that it smelled like a stable.
As everyone mentions, the umbrella is worth it because it gives you shade without boiling underneath.. Now the big issue is the tilt mechanism.. There is a model without a mechanism. Perfect and dash. Check all the models of the company. It rocks! And it doesn't break.
I bought the fourth umbrella in two years. The first beach day of the year, at the end of May, was cloudy with a wind of 3-4 Beaufort. Despite my friends' advice to leave the umbrella because there was no sun, I decided to try it, wanting to see how it would work with the impact pole that I used for the first time. Within 10 minutes, the umbrella broke at the tilt point, fortunately without anyone getting hurt, as there were no people around at that time.
Of course, there is no warranty for umbrellas that don't break – and so I took it as a lesson. Now having three broken umbrellas at the same point (one from another company, Solart), I decided to try something different. I bought the same umbrella but also purchased two metal clamps for pipes for 2 euros. When I opened the umbrella, I placed the clamps on the metal frame underneath and tightened them. In combination with the impact pole and the ropes with stakes, I managed to keep my umbrella open all August, even in strong winds where no one else could stand.
P.S.: At first, I used two clamps, but soon realized that just one is enough to do the job.
The metal arm broke with a moderate wind while it was secured (not tilted) and it also tore the fabric. I had read this in another user's comment but I thought it wouldn't happen to me. However, it did happen and in the middle of my vacation, I was left without an umbrella. Also, it really does smell like a sheepfold as another user has mentioned, but I thought they were exaggerating.
First of all, to help those who are confused with the pole umbrella so they don't have to run for returns like I did, let me say the following.
All the Maui F2.20m from the 1560 series (28/32mm) and the 1947 Black Out (listed as 29/32mm) fit perfectly with the code 10104 (Golden Fleece), 26-28mm.
Regarding the umbrellas, one of our groups had the 1560 and we had the 1947 Black Out.
The differences were that theirs had a tilt mechanism while ours did not. On paper, the 1560 had 5mm ribs and 28/32mm shafts while the 1947 had 6mm and 29/32mm respectively, something that was not noticeable to the eye.
Also, ours had an extra coating (Black Out) on the inside, which gave most a slightly better feeling of coolness compared to the 1560.
There are positions on 4 ribs, like little rings to tie strings with pegs for greater safety and stability.
Both with a pole umbrella and strings with pegs were completely motionless, even on a day with normal wind.
Personally, I would stick with my choice, the 1947 due to the extra Black Out coating, but also because I don't want a tilt mechanism as I prefer the pole of the umbrella to be one piece.

It broke at the tilt mechanism on the second day with a light breeze while it was tied at all points! As seen in the photo, that part is very poorly made!! What a shame for fifty bucks
It broke after a few uses. in the retraction mechanism. We glued it somewhat but then it completely fell apart. Throwing it away and never again an umbrella with retraction. that can withstand such weight...
I went to the beach 10 times last month and on the last visit the retractable mechanism broke without gusts and wind, etc. Obviously, I took it back and the person in charge told me that about 15 of them have been returned in the last month and all for the mechanism, and he himself said that the construction is fake. Those who have managed to keep it are lucky. I have a 20-euro umbrella from Jumbo that I set up in 7 Beaufort winds and it was just stationary.
You put a little sand inside its case, tie it from the side where the wind blows, and the umbrella doesn't get damaged! We tried it even with 5 Beaufort and it made us look good!!
It provides good shade but within two weeks it broke at the point of retraction with minimal wind! It definitely isn't worth its price. Much cheaper umbrellas have a longer lifespan!
Things are simple:
a) The umbrella is well-made and generally durable even in wind.
b) If you want better shading, there is the model with the black underside.
c) Unfortunately, even in moderate winds, it can break at the tilt joint, which is defective. For some, it lasts a lifetime; for others, it breaks easily with a moderate wind. I experienced the same and had to repair it, as shown in the photo, with a section of 3/4 inch metal pipe. The manufacturer does not replace it.
d) If you are not keen on the tilt, get the model without tilt and you will be at peace, as suggested in another comment (I bought it and it is excellent). Otherwise, you will either need to add reinforcement as some show or there is a chance it will break (it could happen on the second use, or it might never happen).
I don't have an opinion on the durability because I returned it as soon as I noticed that light passes through it. However, it doesn't seem very strong at the joint. I saw others at the beach from well-known brands like "HUPA," which seemed more quality and non-permeable to me.
Although I have two smaller ones, we got a large one this year. In the first week, I was very satisfied; it had quite a good resistance to the wind on the island, of course tied with ropes. In the second week, with zero wind, the mechanism that gives it tilt in the middle broke, without me having used it even once. Definitely a defective product. I don't mind; I will replace the entire pole with a single aluminum pole, which is class superior.
The two smaller ones I have from the same company are showing issues with that mechanism over time, and whenever it blows a bit, the pin from the mechanism sometimes comes off and I have to run. For others, it is practical; I find it useless since you can tilt the umbrella with the hummer stick. A single pole is the most stable, especially on islands where there is a lot of wind.
Fake construction, on a windy day it turned upside down and the plastic so-called fiber spokes turned white. And on the second gust of wind, it broke at the base where it gives inclination, see image. Cheap plastic too, supposedly metallic alloy. This is a manufacturing defect; normally, it requires mass lawsuits against the company and replacement or closure. There are options that are twice as cheap with reinforcement there. It is also incompatible with the golden fleece hammer 32mm; it got stuck after being inserted once. It left me with the worst impressions... And this after a massive investment of 250 euros for the hammer, aluminum loungers, stakes with ropes, a master's degree (from YouTube) for installation at 45 degrees, with wind inclination, considering air turbulence, ground irregularities, etc. The wind is unpredictable, it strengthens, changes direction, and it is certain that it will break it. It’s better to invest in those that are not breakable; you can give them the inclination yourself by the way you tie the absolutely necessary items in the absence of stakes. The fact that not everything is necessarily sold together does not mean that they are optional, but simply so that the consumer can buy what breaks separately. This umbrella does not hold up in summer.
Tested one summer! It provides very good shade for two people! In very windy conditions, it needs help with stakes, otherwise the wind will take it away. I used it in Crete. Now, in terms of durability, it will show over time; I will come back if needed!
Generally, the construction and materials are good except for the "handle" that determines its height. It doesn't close completely and there is a risk of breaking when pressed to close fully. It seems that there is some manufacturing issue with the spring inside it.
Unfortunately, in a strong gust of wind, it turned over completely...resulting in one of its spokes getting damaged...and although I had tied it with strings, the strings came out from above the loops.... It still works, but now whenever there is wind, I don't trust it very much....
I am amazed by the people who have written negative comments about the most perfect umbrella I have ever seen in my life! OK, I understand that someone might have received a defective product, they should have returned it and gotten a replacement. The umbrella is simply incredible; in strong wind, it turned completely inside out and became a G like a flag, and yet I turned it back, I was sure it was ruined, and the umbrella was unharmed - there is no better choice!!
