Think of your own Happy Place... Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college, fitting together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Only now - for reasons they still don't want to discuss - they are no longer together. They broke up five months ago... and still haven't told their best friends. That's why they end up staying in the same room at a cottage in Maine, which has been their group's getaway spot every year for the past decade.
Their annual break from the world, where for one intense week of bliss they leave their daily lives behind. They consume vast amounts of cheese, wine, and seafood. And they enjoy the salty sea breeze with the people who understand them best. Only this year, Harriet and Wyn are telling crazy lies while trying to ignore how desperately they still want each other. Because the cottage is up for sale and this week is the last they will all spend together in this place. They can't bear to break their friends' hearts, so they will play their roles. Harriet will be the resident doctor who never starts fights and Wyn the easygoing charmer who never lets his weaknesses show. The plan is flawless (if you look at it from a great distance while wearing sunglasses smudged with sunscreen). After so many years of love, how hard can it be to pretend for a week that you're still in love... in front of those who know you best?
