The ZTE U50 is a mobile router, a device to which other devices (e.g., computer, mobile phone, television) connect wirelessly, and it distributes internet access to them. It receives internet access through the built-in modem and uses the mobile network by installing a SIM card. The SIM card must have an active connection with a data package.

This device also functions as a portable hotspot, meaning it can operate anywhere as it has a built-in battery.
