The EX89 sneaker combines the influences of the Gel Extreme basketball shoe heritage from 1989 with modern shock-absorbing properties. It was originally created by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s as his first design with ASICS.
The multi-layered leather construction of the upper is also met with vibrant color matching the iconic uniforms of NBA teams of the era. The shock absorption system has been improved with FF BLAST technology. It features a sculpted heel shape to enhance underfoot comfort during everyday scenarios.
The design of the outsole is intended to reflect the view of a city from the sky. This functional feature was initially inspired by the designer's first professional trip to the United States in 1987. The distinctive ASICS label adds a recognizable element to your style.
