Description

The Arctic Liquid Freezer III 280 A-RGB is an all-in-one CPU water cooling system that offers exceptional cooling performance. It comes ready for immediate use with pre-installed radiator fans in a push configuration and includes high-performance MX-6 thermal paste. It features a specially designed water pump with PWM control, optimized for both performance and noise. It also includes a quiet and powerful 60 mm VRM fan that provides almost silent cooling for the socket area. The cooler is compatible with Intel and AMD sockets, including the future Intel LGA18511 socket. The A-RGB versions feature digitally addressable lighting for the pump head and radiator fans. It has been praised for its top-notch cooling capabilities, compatibility with leading Intel and AMD sockets, and its sturdy design that includes two A-RGB P14 PWM fans, an aluminum radiator, and sleek integrated cable management

Ready out of the box - Easy installation

The Liquid Freezer III is ready for immediate use thanks to the pre-installed radiator fans in a push configuration. The fan cables are integrated into the tubing housing, so only one cable needs to be connected to the motherboard. With the included MX-6 thermal compound, you have everything you need for a quick and easy installation.

Future-proof compatibility

The Liquid Freezer III is compatible with Intel and AMD sockets. Intel will release their new Arrow Lake processors in the LGA1851 socket in the future. ARCTIC customers do not need to worry that the new processors will require new coolers. We guarantee full compatibility. The Liquid Freezer III can be used with the new Intel LGA1851 socket without any limitations.

Contact frame for Intel LGA1700 and LGA1851

The independent loading mechanism (ILM) of Intel distorts the CPU by pressing it into the socket at two points with over 40 kg of force. This puts pressure on the PCB, the die, and the thermal interface material between the die and the Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS). With high thermal loads, this can lead to long-term issues. The mounting frame from ARCTIC does not distort the CPU, significantly reduces mechanical load on the CPU, is fast and easy to install, and allows for the cooler to be screwed onto the backplate of the CPU. As a result, mechanical strain on the motherboard and CPU is minimized, cooling performance remains stable, and installation is quick and simple.

Silent and powerful VRM fan

The voltage converters of the motherboards often operate at their maximum temperature in combination with the power-hungry CPUs. To compensate for the lack of airflow from a tower cooler, the Liquid Freezer III operates with a revised VRM fan. The 60mm fan with PWM control allows for almost silent cooling of the socket area when VRM cooling is insufficient, in cases of poor airflow or specifically in overclocking scenarios. This allows for a consistently higher load and longer lifespan for the voltage converters.

Optimized, Home Developed Water Pump

The Liquid Freezer III is equipped with a specially advanced PWM-controlled water pump, which has been further optimized for both performance and noise. Thanks to the improved cooling plate with extended fin surface and the optimized water tubes, the Liquid Freezer III enhances its performance while maintaining quiet operation.

Complete Control or Simple Control

Two connection cables - two control options

Separate adjustment: The pump, VRM fan, and cooler fan can be adjusted independently from each other. This allows, for example, controlling the speed of the VRM fan independently from the CPU and analog temperature adjustment of the voltage converters via PWM.

All-in-One: This allows controlling the entire unit through a single connection, from which the speed of the cooler fans is extracted. Therefore, the pump, VRM, and cooler fans can be easily controlled through a unified PWM setting.

Addressable LED for all requirements

ARCTIC uses standardized 3-pin cables instead of proprietary connectors. This not only ensures compatibility with most lighting systems for motherboards, cases, controllers, and accessories, but also allows control based on software with the most common control programs. The daisy-chain function also ensures that each LED can display a separate color at any time, offering countless combination options for every preference.

this guy keeps a ryzen 7950x cool, and it costs 85 euros. its great. but i had a little trouble with it, the fans that come preinstalled have astronomically small cables since i believe they are meant to be installed as is, i couldnt do that, so i had to get new fans. which adds to the overall price. other than that, i feel great about the purchase.

Good evening, after purchasing this specific cooler, you should be aware that it is not for socket 1151 as stated in its specifications.

  • Initially, the fan that appears does not rotate, it remains stationary and simply lights up, inside it has another smaller one that rotates silently and does the job that the older arctic ones did. Visually it would be better if it rotated, now it gives the feeling that it is broken and has stopped. The cooler does not fit exactly on the processor, it does not cover it completely, something that initially if you do not know you think you have done something wrong... This of course is the idea of the company and is based on the fact that it provides better cooling, it seems quite weird to me but ok because it does indeed provide good cooling, it keeps the 5800x3d at a maximum of 73 degrees, without undervolting it, a known processor for being hot. The cooler is bulky and difficult to install, in a small case things might be difficult. In terms of noise, when it has low speeds it is not audible, but when it increases speed there is noise. Empirically, since I had nztx, corsair, and when they increased speed you could hear a buzz, maybe in a higher price category there are silent ones even at high speeds, I don't know. This one cost me around 70 euros.
