The best there is in trail shoes. Salomon has studied the construction of the shoe very well, and it shows from the first use.
- Glove-like fit and generally narrow. It hugs the foot evenly along the length and widens slightly at the toe for space for the toes. The height in the toe area is low; you can't move your toes much up and down. This works for me; it gives me a better sense of fit.
- The internal lining is excellent, making the shoe very comfortable. The tongue is relatively thick and wide, hugging the instep.
- The outer construction is made of durable and thin materials. The perimeter protection from stones is top-notch. I have kicked stones the size of a tennis ball, and both the shoe and my foot felt nothing.
- Very good breathability, and I would say the dust protection is average.
- Lacing is uniform and precise. It doesn't loosen no matter how many hours I wear it.
- The insole is borderline soft. It makes running on any terrain comfortable; it doesn't tire you at all.
- The outsole is worth all the money. Excellent grip, with very good energy return. It doesn't have a rock plate, but it feels nothing from the stones. This particular aspect has impressed me greatly. I have used it in Olympus and Parnitha, and no matter what stone you step on, the shoe has a stable and secure footing. It makes for very pleasant and comfortable running. I haven't used it on wet ground.
- It also works for mountain hiking.
In conclusion, the shoe is a tank with a salon inside. Comfortably 5 stars.
