These markers are not permanent, they are clearly water-based.. They barely dissolve the paper depending on how wet their writing is. They also have nothing to do with the performance of a permanent marker in terms of how they write. Disappointing, because their description could at least correspond to what they actually are, and we don't want to waste money and time for those of us who don't want carioca-type markers
