After almost 1 month and daily use, I can say that it is the best purchase in terms of quality - price. I mainly use them for COD and the surround 3D audio is truly top-notch! They have very good ear coverage and isolate quite a bit from external sounds. However, the best feature is that the mic (which is also extended now) isolates everything happening around you so your friends in the group can only hear you and not the vacuum cleaner that your wife just turned on! And of course, since it's Sony, it's plug and play, you don't have to deal with it much... convenience!
True to the expectations I had from what I saw and heard about the pulse elite from the internet. The only issue is that if you don't have a ps5 you can't upgrade the firmware and change some of their settings
This is an excellent choice!!!!! It has great external sound isolation and delivers the sounds of the games amazingly. The fit on the head is very good and does not tire even after hours of gaming.
The headphones are simply outstanding. Very light, you forget you're wearing them. The ear cushions are very comfortable and have incredible noise isolation. Connectivity with anything you can imagine. It has been tested with bluetooth on TV, smartphone, and laptop. It has been tested with PS Portal and of course with PS5. Very positive is the fact that it supports dual device connectivity, meaning you can have it connected to Portal and your smartphone and answer calls while playing.
I have the PS5 "fat" which has the Type-A port in the front and that's why, maybe, I haven't had a single disconnection since I bought them. Possibly when the dongle is placed at the back of the console it may cause an issue.
As for the sound, I don't have much to say. Wonderful, full, and crystal clear. Just like with the previous generations, with the elite you can play with settings to customize the sound to your liking. It is also important that they have quite strong volume. For example, if you turn up the volume to the maximum on the Portal and on the headphones you simply can't play because of how loud it is.
Lastly, I left the battery for the end. I have had them for 15 days and I have forgotten to charge them. Not a single bar has dropped. For me, this is one of the main reasons for purchase. I was skeptical of course, as the predecessor suffered in this area and the 30 hours that Sony advertises seemed extremely exaggerated to me, but it proved me wrong.
Overall, for MY use, it is a purchase I would definitely make again. Completely satisfied from all aspects.
I hope the issues with disconnections that some people are facing will be resolved with an update.
Don't get me wrong, these headphones are great, but they have a disconnect issue where they suddenly disconnect while playing... Many times throughout the day. Get the pulce 3d headphones, they are great and cheaper
The headphones are by far better than the simple Pulse ones, which I considered just good. These ones are worth the price difference because they have Bluetooth and noise canceling, which gives them much greater functionality in other things. The sound is upgraded and is just as good as aftermarket headphones of similar price, finally I got official headphones that have nothing to envy to good aftermarket ones. Contrary to my friend below, I had no connectivity issues and probably got a defective piece.
The headset would have many positives if it didn't have constant disconnects from the PS5 and didn't completely break down in 3 weeks (see below).
I pre-ordered them from a well-known store and not through skroutz. I am writing my experience here so that others don't make the same mistake, at least until Sony decides to get serious.
The headphones seemed very good at first glance. They have a dongle (usb A) which is necessary for use with the PlayStation 5 (it doesn't play bluetooth).
After pairing it with the console, I was impressed with the sound and noise canceling. Also, with the microphone that only picked up my voice. After a few hours, I had a disconnect, which wouldn't come back no matter what. Eventually, I had to unplug the dongle and plug it back in to make them work again.
These disconnects happened about once a day - searching online it seems to be a common issue. It will probably be fixed with an update, but with the steelseries I replaced them with for a more native experience, I NEVER had this happen in 4-5 years.
After a few days, I wanted to connect them via bluetooth to my laptop (macbook pro). At first, it didn't see them at all while they were in pairing mode, but after many tries it worked. Since then, they worked fine and I had what I wanted: to be able to switch the headset from the PS5 to the mac with the press of a button.
The disconnects continued, but only from the console (with its own dongle). The bluetooth, which for some reason doesn't work with the console, worked fine.
Fast forward to the 2-3 weeks that I have had them. This morning the headphones were dead. I thought it might be the battery, but they simply died. I took them to the store, they will send them to the service and eventually replace them for me.
Unacceptable things for headphones that cost 150€, which should normally work perfectly with the PS5.
I went back to my faithful steelseries and will write an update. I probably got a defective product, I understand that, but I rate based on my experience.
