Rode has a good tradition in offering quality microphones at a very reasonable cost, and the NT4 is no exception.
Its XY configuration allows it to be used in both music applications and for recording atmosphere and environment for uses in cinema, video games, etc., just like the way I use it.

I am completely satisfied with the signal quality it delivers, as well as its stereo image. It can also be used in combination with the Rode Blimp (or any other shock mount that can accommodate it) and be mounted on a boom pole to effectively protect it from wind and get closer to a hard-to-reach sound source, which gives it additional versatility.

Its body is durable, but the exposed capsules require some attention. It can also be used with a 9v battery.
