It has an audio notification well before the completion of the temperature measurement. This way the user gets a false indication (always lower than the actual one).

The sound of it is imperceptible when measuring temperature, and it doesn't always take 10'' to measure. Overall, it disappointed me as a product because it doesn't make any sound and I'm not sure when it measured. We tried it as a family and it got on our nerves. I would return it, but the hassle would cost me more. I probably should have bought a different brand.
