The measure of self-esteem is often defined by the ability to deny our attributes, allowing our existence to shine purely and free from social memories that obscure the essence and original purpose. By the capacity to forget accumulated bitterness, disappointments, conventions, expectations, and to be reborn, retaining only the experience and gratitude of the lived moment.
And as the journey, over time, becomes increasingly solitary and self-criticism more impartial and harsh, it is the quality of self-esteem, not its quantity, that will maintain appearances.
