The X-S20 incorporates an improved autofocus prediction algorithm, allowing for stable focus even when capturing continuously moving subjects. The autofocus improvements are most notable in Zone AF and in challenging low-contrast situations.

The AUTO function, which allows the camera to recognize and automatically adjust the most optimal shooting setting for the scene. When the AUTO mode is selected on the mode dial, the camera automatically detects the subject and tracks it while keeping it in focus. This eliminates the need to adjust subject detection settings, making shooting even more convenient.
