A novel based on the true story of the German-American Ernst Hanfstaengl (1887-1975), who started as an art dealer and musician in New York in the 1910s and was a companion of Djuna Barnes. Later, he was captivated by Hitler, became his trusted friend and personal pianist, and remained known by his childhood nickname Putzi, "little man," despite being two meters tall.

He dreamed of a USA-Germany alliance, but he lost the favor of the Führer and was expelled from Nazi Germany. He returned to America and became a key informant for Roosevelt about Hitler.

Putzi is the first novel by French historian and journalist Thomas Snegaroff (b. 1974), which brings to life the era of Goebbels, Göring, Thomas Mann, Carl Jung, and others.
