Description
The training to become a fighter pilot is among the most competitive and difficult in the world with fewer than one-in-a-thousand succeeding. Pushing a cutting-edge jet to its limits at over 1,000 mph means that every split-second decision can have catastrophic consequences. Throughout his high-pressure career in the cockpit of the world's most advanced and expensive weapons systems, Hasard Lee learned to master skills at the apex of decision-making theory and practice.

Reviews
The book has several detailed first-person stories from war zones the author was fighting at. He ties the historical or tactical battle events and processes happening in his stories to the decision making framework he follows and analyzes in the book. I loved some of the phrases he uses, like:
"Learning is about being able to forecast the future. By understanding the cause-and-effect relationship of the world around us, we can make decisions that will have the highest probability of accomplishing our objectives."
"Knowledge is only useful to the degree that it can be drawn on when needed. It doesn't matter how well information can be recalled in a sterile environment - what matters is being able to use it in the real world, where there are distractions, uncertainty, and risk."
He explains notions such as power laws (Exponential growth, Diminishing returns, Long tail), the importance of accuracy over precision, simple fast-forecasting, creativity as an essential part of efficient decision making, and the importance of both confidence and humility at the right time.
