Many educators admit that their main goal is the success of students in exams. Therefore, their teaching is limited to transferring as much information as possible, hoping that something will eventually stick with the student.
We believe that the knowledge gaps created by sterile memorization exhaust the student and hinder their progress. For this reason, we consider that exam success should be based on three axes:
a. understanding the theory, so that the student does not simply "parrot" but can apply and compose their knowledge to answer questions and solve problems,
b. proper preparation through practice, and
c. comprehensive revision.
A large part of the material covered by the biology textbook for the third year of high school is already known from previous grades, mainly from middle school, and is not adequately explained, creating misunderstandings and difficulties for students. For this reason, we have referred to international literature and present colorful images and diagrams from university textbooks and scientific journals, which help better understand the theory. We also emphasize the key points of the theory that students need to know, not only those who are examined in biology at a national level but also at an intra-school level.
For the proper preparation of students, we provide both open-ended questions (development, short answer) and closed-ended questions (multiple choice, true/false), as well as problems-diagrams in the style of the National Examinations.
To enable students to monitor their preparation progress and evaluate their progress, we have added review exams, questions, and more difficult problems, topics from the O.E.F.E. simulation exams, as well as all the topics of the national exams of the unified and evening high school (and the review exams) of the last decade.
Finally, to facilitate all students and educators who will use the book, we have added the answers to the questions and the solutions to the exercises at the end of the book.
