Description
Barebone by Intel. Barebones are computers with the difference that at least one basic component is not included, such as the processor, memory, hard drive, or all of these together. In simple terms, they are not ready to be plugged in immediately after opening the package, but only when we add the missing basic components.
The model Nuc 13 Pro Kit NUC13ANHi5 features the Intel Core i5 1340P processor at 1.9GHz. DDR4 RAM and 2.5", M.2 storage medium need to be added by the user.
Finally, it features 3.5mm Jack, Ethernet, Thunderbolt 4, USB 2.0, USB 3.2, USB-C, WiFi.

It is difficult to find such features (TB4, 2.5G Ethernet, 2xHDMI, etc.) in a similar size box from a reliable company. Possibly only in a Mac Mini (with the corresponding higher cost and the advantages/disadvantages of the hardware/software). On the downside, as of the end of 2023, Intel has essentially "sold" the NUC department to Asus and any support provided is from Asus. Relatively quiet with the fan only audible when the machine is under load, it is easily portable along with its power supply (which is slightly larger than that of a regular laptop). It works seamlessly with the Dell WD22TB4 docking station.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?I set it up with Windows 11 Pro for browsing, office, streaming.
It does everything well and is quiet. If it struggles, then you can hear the fan but within very tolerable limits. The strange thing I encountered was during the installation of Windows, the network was not working, neither wifi nor ethernet. And without a network, the installation got stuck. I found a hack where you had to open a terminal to bypass the network issue and proceed, but while the terminal was opening, it would freeze during typing.
Luckily, I have a USB - Ethernet adapter that it recognized immediately, so it had a network to continue.
The installation finished and afterwards wifi & ethernet worked normally.Translated from Greek ·- Speed

Did you find this review helpful?I bought it for proxmox vm. I actually bought two. They have been running for about a month without any issues. Very quiet. Stacked on top of each other in August and you can't hear them. They also consume very little power. With a 900w ups, 2 machines, a desk lamp, laptop charger, mobile charger, and router, they last for 4 hours. Very satisfied with this purchase

Did you find this review helpful?Purchased as a desktop replacement (with i5-7600, 32GB RAM) with the intention of saving space, power consumption, and performance. Completely satisfied with all three.
Installed 32GB of memory, a 4TB NVMe, and a 4TB SATA 3 2.5" SSD. Part of the SATA SSD/HDD bracket is a copper heatsink with thermal pads to cool the M2 SSD(s). The problem with this is that if you get an M2 with a heatsink, the cover won't close because the SSD heatsink will touch the bracket's heatsink. The solution is simply to unscrew the bracket (easy) and if you want to install a SATA SSD (not recommended for HDDs due to their weight), unscrew the SATA interface from the bracket and screw it directly onto the cover (also easy). I hope it shows in the pictures. I don't deduct a star for this, on the contrary, in a way, you now know that you don't need to get an M2 with a heatsink for this system, as Intel takes care of the cooling.
Apart from that, one star less because I installed Win10, of course there are no drivers on Intel's website (different for Win10 and Win10 IoT) and of course the assistant didn't find anything (except for the firmware), so I had to rely on what Windows update finds. The issue is that no matter how many decades I've been dealing with PCs, I had never seen a WHEA error in my life, which I naturally saw on the first day with this system on Win10. I simply upgraded to Win11, so the driver issue was resolved. I haven't seen any instability so far, the performance is excellent.
As for noise, of course there is the typical fan noise, which varies depending on what it's doing at the moment and the temperatures it has. Just don't keep it close to you if it bothers you. In terms of temperatures, it will easily reach 100C under full load, so the fans will kick in, but personally, it doesn't bother me.
