The Habotest HT633 meter allows you to measure both moisture and temperature. It is equipped with 7 settings, so you can measure different materials. The screen provides access to the most important information and the sensitive sensor is responsible for accurate measurements. Additionally, it allows you to change the measurement units to °C/°F and automatically turns off after a certain period of non-use to save energy.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
The choice was made based on the brand name, which is well-known in the field of technical measurement instruments, and of course the quality/price ratio. As for the construction, it is good for the intended job (not just wood). As a measuring instrument, it is perfect. I have conducted many tests and compared it to an older one that I had. An additional useful feature is the indication of ambient temperature and humidity. Both the wood measurement and the temperature/humidity indications are very accurate and change with the slightest variation. If the wood moisture is below 10 percent, do not expect to see the exact percentage because it simply displays "Lo."
To perform a measurement, we select the wood/material group with A-B-C-D. In the very detailed instruction manual, we can see the corresponding letter next to the name of each tree. Without exaggeration, it includes around 400 trees. Of course, if, for example, the wood belongs to group A, we select A and don't bother with it again. That means you don't need to select the group every time you take a measurement, only if you change the wood/material. I also note that some users of similar instruments cannot find the setting for olive wood (scientifically: olea). This particular instrument has two types of olive wood.
The color on the screen changes depending on the material's humidity. It is red for high humidity, orange for moderate, and green for low humidity.
The packaging includes a small bag with two probes and a small key. The instruction booklet is very informative and is written in English, but the basic functions are simply stated and can be easily translated from English to determine the type of wood we want to measure. I believe it will last, but I cannot comment on its durability in the future. If anything goes wrong, I will edit the review.
