Monitor for demanding gaming
The Samsung Odyssey G5 is primarily aimed at demanding gamers who are looking for a high-performance monitor for gaming, video, and general use. With its high refresh rate and low input lag, it offers quick responses and high performance in games such as FPS, racing, and fighting. It features an impressive curved screen, unique Core lighting design, immersive WQHD resolution with HDR technology for vivid scenes on your screen, as well as a 1ms response time and FreeSync Premium for smooth gaming.
The high-performance 1000R panel automatically transports you to the heart of the battle as it matches the curvature of the human eye to offer you the ultimate gaming experience while minimizing eye strain.
With a refresh rate of 144Hz, transitions, even the fastest ones, become extremely smooth, and you can now perceive every tiny detail that can make you a dominant force on the battlefield.
A fraction of a second is enough to fall behind your opponents. For this reason, the Odyssey features a 1ms response time to ensure that information reaches you as quickly as technologically possible.
Thanks to AMD FreeSync Premium technology, transitions even in the fastest action scenes become extremely smooth as the refresh rate of the graphics card is synchronized with the monitor to minimize "tearing," flickering, and input delays in the image.
The universe of your favorite game comes to life before your eyes with WQHD resolution, which has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD screens. WQHD resolution has every reason to boast of its extremely detailed image with incredible color accuracy. The action takes on a new meaning as you now have a large field of view to fully enjoy your game.
HDR technology with a rich kaleidoscope of shadows makes your game more vivid and intense by revealing what is hidden in the shadows, offering an image with strong contrasts with deep shades of black and bright shades of white for impressively detailed resolution that always keeps you one step ahead of the rest.

Nice colors and resolution but it has two main disadvantages. Very small diameter to bend the screen towards you, which means if you are tall or short you will have to adjust the chair to align yourself. And secondly, every time you change window the program stops receiving signal from the pc for a few seconds as expected, the screen goes completely black and then reopens.
A great picture, nice colors, convenient to use with the menu button. I have had it for 3 years and it hasn't shown any problems. I would give it 5 stars if you could adjust its height and/or tilt. To raise it, I put 2 thick books underneath it. There are solutions available.
Nice screen but I'm sorry, it doesn't really have the hrz it claims, not 100% ... as it also has problems with flickering and specifically it happens when the pc goes into sleep mode and wakes up again, then it becomes unstable and flickers if you open a window of a game or heavy program ... (possibly due to the transformer it has) I have compared it with older and also newer screens, but I guess this model causes problems for some buyers, who happen to be a noticeable number ... choose something else even if it's a nice choice due to the image. I was using it with a cpu 13900k gpu 7900 xt psu 1200watt etc etc and it didn't perform as it should
It's worth its money. I have had it for a long time and I am very satisfied. Very nice analysis and it is very helpful for vision. BUY IT.
I have had the screen for 3 years, it just developed a fault in the LED backlight as well as the others who write about problems, I see these black shadows and from what I was told it will gradually fade away, so the mere 250€ I paid for it didn't last long. The only thing I worry about is what monitor to find because it had amazing colors, etc. and the curvature was unbelievable. Apart from the fault, it is the best and it's a shame because I wanted it to last for more years.
The screen is perfect! It has very good graphics and you can put a small target on the screen through the menu in order to have better aim. You can adjust the response time through the menu, but the higher you increase it, the more power it will consume. It is very good and fast
Those of you who have a PS5, this monitor is worth 100%. 1440p 120fps in any game that supports it, of course. It is the best thing someone can do if they have a PS5, otherwise, in order to see the 120fps, they would have to spend 1000€+ on a TV with 120hz.
The screen is the best for its money, it has HDR and it is VFM
Bought from Kotsovolos, owner for 2 years and had a problem with the LED backlight. I was luckier than my friend who bought it after me and had the exact same problem within a month. They replaced it with a sealed model and it had the exact same problem. The service repaired it and so far it's okay. Proceed with your own responsibility if you decide to purchase it because this particular model seems to be a lottery, you never know what you'll get
It is a very nice screen. It is hard to find competition at this price range. For the money it has, I have been satisfied. I highly recommend it.
Now if someone wants to get a screen with better color clarity, they will have to go up to double or triple the price of this one to notice a significant difference in my opinion.
Is it worth the money? Yes, it is worth it for what it offers! Whether it will be worth it in the long run, only time will tell...
There are many positives, of course, you don't pay a small amount of money but neither a lot!
It is a very honest screen from a "stingy" manufacturer, as the only negatives for me at the moment are that it does not have height adjustment (tragic and ridiculous for its price) and 165 hertz (you have to pay extra if you want to go to 165).
Coming from an LG Flatron screen that is 15 years old with 4-5 moves on its back and relatively heavy use at intervals, which until yesterday when I got the G5 was working fine (with a small fan next to it because it was getting hot), the differences are obviously huge. I hope the G5 will at least give me half the lifespan and trouble-free use that the old LG Flatron gave me!
As an owner, I have noticed some dead pixels after about a month, which is quite common to happen on a screen, so it's not a big issue. However, the side view is a bit dizzying, so I'm giving it 4 stars. If there is any problem with the panel or anything else, I will inform you
Well, it is evaluated by a user of a few parts. I haven't found anything negative so far, currently it is connected to an Xbox Series S.
It plays Fortnite at 120fps with a resolution of 1440x1080 and all games are about the same. Also, don't expect 2k resolution, I play at 60fps with 4k resolution.
P.S: It only has one negative, it doesn't go left or right as it says, only if you lift it and turn it. But the screen is value for money for what it does and the fact that it requires a menu
Temporarily I have connected it to the Xbox and it is very good. I have nothing negative to say. I loved the menu, which is the best I have seen on a screen because it allows you to put your own crosshair. The 1ms msrp is not like 1ms gtg, but it is quite good. I, who am not an expert, put it on extreme with low input lag and it is butter at 120hz. Because I see that others have issues with the panel, I will come back if I see something like that.
*edit: when I play games with HDR (I play Roblox), the screen looks as if it is cut in half. In other words, the HDR seems to only work on half of the screen. Of course, it is not the fault of the screen, just saying.
*edit: many people said that after some time, the screen started having issues as if it was coming off. I have had it for a year and it hasn't had any problems, it's solid
