The WiFi Extender by Strong emits a signal at two frequencies. It provides higher speeds compared to single and can connect more devices. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most common and has a long range. The 5Ghz frequency provides faster speeds than 2.4Ghz but is more susceptible to obstacles (e.g. walls) that reduce its range. This difference, as well as its more limited use, helps reduce interference from other networks. The repeater can provide up to 1200Mbps in total to the devices connected to it. In practice, the actual speed that is shared with the devices is closer to 200Mbps. Indicatively, a 4K high-resolution movie requires about 25Mbps. The speed that each connected device will have depends on the distance, obstacles, the number of other devices connected, the number of other networks in the same area, etc. It is Wi-Fi 5 generation, the most widespread Wi-Fi standard, which can meet the needs of most users at present. There is now also the next generation Wi-Fi 6, which offers the ability to connect many more devices to serve the increasingly growing smart devices in a home. The connection via ethernet cable offers a speed of 1000Mbps (also known as Gigabit), which is the maximum speed that ethernet can support. It is usually encountered in professional environments where transferring large files (e.g. high-definition videos) is a common occurrence, and in repeaters that support corresponding high WLAN speeds.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
It disconnects from the router daily (1-3 disconnections per day).
The disconnections require a device reboot or unplugging and plugging it back in.
Afterwards, it will connect without any problem, but it may drop again in 15 minutes or an hour.
Completely unreliable, not a single day without a disconnection.
To add to all this, settings, channel changes, etc. do not make any difference.
No support from the company, no available firmware, no help.
