Description

In a house full of murderers, anything can happen.

Reinhard Heydrich, the darkest figure among the high-ranking Nazis and the new Protector of the Reich in Bohemia and Moravia, orders Bernie Gunther to visit him in Prague and spend a weekend at his country estate. It is an "invitation" that Bernie would gladly avoid, especially since he learns that the other guests are senior officers of the SS and the Security Service.

When the body of Albert Kutner, an SS captain, is discovered in a room locked from the inside, Bernie becomes the center of attention as he takes on the task of solving this mysterious case.

If he fails, he knows well what is at stake: not only his own reputation but also the reputation of a powerful and vengeful man - Reinhard Heydrich.

Review this product
  • This review is about the format: Hard Cover

Without tiring with descriptions, it easily creates images and immerses you in the plot of the story. Although I found it a bit outdated at first, after the first 50-60 pages, I didn't want to put it down. Black humor, very nice plot without exaggerations, gives a picture of Germany during World War II that many may not have known. I consider it one of the best books I have read and I will definitely read more books by Philip Kerr
