It is rectangular and made of particle board, a wood derivative made from small pieces of wood and sawdust. It has an exterior melamine coating, which provides resistance to scratches, friction, and corrosive substances. Finally, the product requires assembly as it is delivered unassembled.
The melamine, which is the coating material, is very easy to clean from stains thanks to its hard surface. You can wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth and this is enough to make your table look like new again. For stubborn stains, you can use a mild cleaner.

The backgammon boards do not align. Also, it looks cheap (which it is) and much lighter in color than the photos. You get what you pay for.
For the job I got it (instead of a bedside table because I don't have much space on the side of the bed), it's fine. Obviously, it's not for heavy use. Basically, it's for very light things (a watch, a light, the phone, etc.). Very easy assembly, with nice fit and detailed instructions. And its height is quite good (slightly taller than the classic bedside tables).
