How is it, that the little island of Cyprus, provides a mobile network (Cyta) which enables service on Apple cellular watches… yet in all of Greece, including Athens… we dont have any cellular providers?? Its about to be 2024… what is the hold up. Samsung watches are enabled, but Apple watches nope sorry. You’re selling the cellular models in Greece, without the capabilities to enable cellular service. Am I the only one who thinks this is insane? Let me sell you a race car which can reach 320KPH, but the wheels aren’t available so you just sit inside of it and listen to the engine. And no drop in price, nope its the same price as the car equipped with wheels. Cmon guys
The watch is fantastic. The only negative thing is that for now in Greece it doesn't support esim from any provider except Cyprus and Cyta. So even if you get it with esim, it's useless. NO, the esim of the phone is not the same as the Watch's. Of course, they mention it on Apple's official page. https://www.apple.com/watch/cellular/ if you search, you won't find it in our little Greece. So be patient in about 5 years and maybe.. :)
If you are in the Apple ecosystem, it's almost a one-way street.
There are several positive aspects, but one function that I found disappointing is that it essentially does not have a thermometer as we know it, at least the company has not unlocked its function and kept it for its big brother.
It does not provide wrist or ambient temperature.
It only measures the variation from your "baseline" temperature after wearing it for at least 5 nights...
A simple 60 euro Casio gives me accurate water/sea temperature on the spot.
It requires daily charging from the battery.
On the positive side, it has good accuracy in measurements at distances and underwater, it controls the mobile (iPhone) for taking photos and videos as a remote with a view of what the mobile sees, and it receives calls.
In response to the lady who says she doesn't support esim. Of course, it does support it. All you need to do is go to your provider's store and follow the instructions in the manual. The fact that it connects closely to the mobile only means that it receives a signal from the mobile via Bluetooth. This is completely unrelated to the e-sim

Also, it does not connect with a SIM card, so it only works if it is close to the mobile phone.
I bought it because I am constantly on my scooter and I don't want to stop to talk or look at my phone. Unfortunately, if I don't have my mobile phone nearby, it doesn't work independently.
So, I made a mistake buying it.. It's not the phone's fault, of course, but the fact that this service is not supported by any mobile network.
