The Nike Air Max 97 retains the same design details that made the original model a beloved and famous sneaker: wavy lines, reflective piping, and full-length Max Air cushioning for shock absorption.
Origin
This style from the late 1990s represents an era of impressive design with a futuristic approach. Thanks to its reflective, molded lines, silver tones reminiscent of high-speed Japanese bullet trains, and full-length Max Air cushioning in one of its first applications, this shoe continues to captivate attention. It was first released in 1997 and has since been available in a variety of colors, with the silver being the launch color and the gold being released shortly after.
Air Max
Nike's revolutionary Air sole unit was first introduced in Nike shoes in 1978. In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 was first introduced with a visible Air sole unit in the heel, allowing fans of the model to not only feel but also see this groundbreaking technology. Two years later, the Nike Air Max 95 made its debut with a visible Air sole unit in the front, while the Nike Air Max 97 was released with the first full-length Air unit. The shoe became a favorite among runners, as expected from its wavy design lines. More than two decades later, it continues to make waves.
