    Verified purchase

One of the most affordable, if not the most affordable, automatic, big brand, and widely available GMT watch.

    It offers:
+~41 hours of operation (Seiko 4R34 movement)
    + Jubilee style strap
    + Excellent lume (Seiko LumiBrite)
    + Open caseback (probably Hardlex?)
+ Caller GMT function for tracking up to 2 extra time zones (fourth hand and bezel)
+ Beautiful reflective two-tone GMT bezel
+ Folding clasp (deployant clasp) with two-button release and latch
+ 4 holes for strap adjustment

The "negatives" I noticed are as follows. The only one I consider unjustifiable and which served as a negative criterion prior to purchase is the first:
    - Hardlex instead of Sapphire Crystal at this price is a shame.
    - It is not a True GMT but a Caller GMT. The "Caller GMT" refers to a type of GMT watch where the main hour hand is set to local time and the GMT hand to another time zone. For "True GMT," the GMT hand can be set independently, allowing the main hour hand to track local time as it adjusts when the user travels.
    - The GMT bezel is smooth-fitted, meaning when it turns there is no feedback with clicks, and many times I find it turned slightly (see photos). On the other hand, it is bi-directional.
    - The crown is pull-out and not screw-down like others (but not all) in Seiko's 5 series.

Personally, I find purchasing it from Seiko fans a no-brainer.
If the ~€475 seems a lot for an automatic GMT watch, there are few alternatives between €200-400:
    1) Vostok Europe Expedition North Pole GMT
    2) Citizen Promaster GMT Diver
    3) Orient Star World Time GMT

The five series, which is the lowest range of SEIKO. Overrated!!! There are much better options on the market for less money. The accuracy in the five series is not the best.

It is a beautiful watch! I wear it on trips abroad and sometimes at the office. Its strap is truly a jewel with solid links & end links. It attracts attention!
Update after 8 months of use.
It continues to be a flawless jewel.
