Description

Tasos grows up in a popular provincial neighborhood in the late '70s and the '80s, a transitional period for Greek society. Through his narratives, the atmosphere of the era comes to life as perceived by the young hero, as well as the web of family relationships - sometimes supportive, like a safety net, and other times suffocating and inescapable, like a spider's web. Alongside the main plot, which unfolds in short independent stories, the reader, along with the hero, piece together a story that weighs heavily on the family's past, but continues to cast a shadow on its present. A small coming-of-age story, with all the innocence and tragedy that characterizes the most critical period of a person's life.

  • A simple, concise, and easy-to-read book. At the same time, it is an exercise in awareness of our childhood and all children, whether ours or not.

"Hand in hand, dad and mom walk ahead. Mom holds dad's arm and leans her head on his shoulder. How happy I am to see them like this. Soon we will enter our house, grandma is waiting to tell me what happened at the 'Luna Park', then I will brush my teeth, do my bedtime routine with grandma, and fall asleep. I am still softly singing 'If it could happen'.
Oh, if only this evening could last forever. Ah, if only it could happen."

We were forced by the school to buy this specific book which in my opinion is not suitable for 7th grade students... Unacceptable!!! Many sexual references... Such a disappointing choice... As if there weren't so many other books available.......!!!!
