A famous crime novelist who, deciding to kill off the main hero of her books, suddenly falls into disfavor. A trophy husband preparing to leave her for his younger lover. The omnipresent King and his Jester, haunting her every move. And a chief inspector – in a gray and frozen city – defying all fictional clichés.
Munich, 2018. Luna Marcos, a renowned author, stages the murder of her soon-to-be ex-husband with his consent, in order to once again stir up a media frenzy with her name. However, she does not imagine that reality often surpasses any fiction, as only the truth can ultimately turn into the ultimate nightmare. A heinous murder drives everyone to madness.
Nothing is as it seems and no one is innocent, while events appear to be distorted as if in a funhouse mirror. Because in the end, it is the family stories – those "written" within four walls – that can prove to be the most terrifying of all.
A thriller about the twist that comes after the checkmate move. Because, as is well known, the King always dies last. Sometimes, however, he does not die at all.

I had heard very good reviews about this particular product. The truth is that it is the author's first attempt at a police - mystery novel. Keeping in mind the proportions, it will neither impress you nor disappoint you completely.

I liked the plot (although it has some doses of exaggeration)
It has a relatively surprising ending
It contains some twists that keep the reader's interest

I did not like the quite extensive description in certain parts (some chapters could have been omitted without significantly affecting the plot).
Also, the handling of the narration (chronologically) has quite a few (flashbacks) in my opinion in the wrong way. Also, the fact that everything is recorded with dates tired me to some extent.
