I have bought 3 singles and 1 kit. I have no experience with others, but I am absolutely satisfied. I have installed it in 3 houses. Now I have learned how to set it up. The easiest way, perhaps the only correct way, is through the Xiaomi Home application on the smartphone and then configure it from the PC once you learn its IP. It is usually 192.168.31.1. It has a very good range and supports all WiFi6 technologies. I live downhill. If you put Pass Wall Performance, you can catch internet at the top of the hill in my narrow street at 150 meters away and I trust it for short distances in the house because it doesn't lag. The only reason to have an issue and need a second and third one in mesh is if you have installed this very good insulation for temperature that is very fashionable lately. Or if many walls and doors intervene. Its strong point, which I prefer with the 1000 and take advantage of all its capabilities, is the PPPoE mode, but in this mode you lose access to your main modem-router and to make it work you need the username and password of your connection, which is relatively easy to find in Cosmote. I do not know about other companies.
There is an issue with the updates and the codes. Keep the existing version. DO NOT upgrade the software.
In a 100 square meter house located in the center and it cannot cover them. Placed in the living room (at one end of the house, that is) it has a weak signal line.
I bought it because of the name, it's definitely not bad, good range, nice as a device, you can easily have it in the living room without taking up much space. Fast as wireless, I also receive the 360/360 of the connection, I would say better cooperation with Xiaomi's smart devices.
On the downside, in order to work properly, you need to have it as a router, not as an AP, there you lose almost 70% of its capabilities, for example device blocking, QoS, even guest wifi.
This is an issue if you have another network with a cable and you want to access wireless devices from the wired one.
If I knew about this issue, maybe I wouldn't have chosen it, now I had to change the way of connection I had for so many years.

Let me also write my experience. I have ethernet in every room but I didn't have a good signal on wifi. By connecting the devices easily, although it shows a signal of 390mbps, it didn't download properly because the signal I was receiving for transmission was low wirelessly. What I did:
1st module, WAN port to switch → router
1st module, 2nd LAN cable of the module to switch
2nd module, WAN port to another switch in the room (which is connected to the first switch in the living room)
This way, the 2nd module receives a wired signal, but the mesh works properly and I have absolute speeds. I saved the purchase of a third module and the speeds are as if I am next to the router now.
The only negative thing is the short power cable. PS before, I had 2 Asus RT-AC85P, and the coverage was terrible, 390mbps in the living room, 60mbps in the room (both wired)
It is a very good solution for its price, I have installed it in a 160sqm maisonette and it is flawless. Note: For the wifi, it is good for the devices we will connect to be able to support these speeds.
It was purchased and is combined with the Xiaomi AX3200.
Before, I had the Cosmote router with the AX3200 as a repeater and I was losing somewhere around 100mbps.
Now, the Cosmote router only works for the phone and the entire network is handled by the AX3200 with the AX3000 working as a repeater. Now I get the full speed (300Mbps).
I don't know how it will handle disconnections. Yesterday, the installation was done, but the AX3200 hasn't had a single disconnection for 4 months. So, I expect something similar with the AX3000.
For the installation, I followed the instructions of a user who left a comment on the AX3600.
I will agree with the previous speakers: yes, the installation process is a bit lacking in the manual. Hint: do not immediately connect the ethernet, start the setup without it.
Otherwise: superior wireless network compared to the providers' modem/routers, better range but not a drastic difference, and all the basic settings one would need (although some advanced ones are missing).
For those who have the Mi Home application, setup and management can also be done through it, which is very convenient.
Update 11/23: For anyone who wants to use it as an AP, after the latest firmware update: even if you select to use it as an AP, Xiaomi will set up the unit as a Wired Repeater. Go to router.miwifi.com and in the Repeater settings, you will find an option to Create a new network. This will change the function to an access point.
I closed the Wi-Fi of the router and installed one with a cable directly to the router in the living room and the second one in the bedroom, where there are 2 walls in between. During the installation, because I have Cosmote connection, I entered my broadband codes that I requested from the company in order for the ax3000 to function as an AP and for the management of the IP addresses of the devices and the Dhcpcd to be done through it. I noticed that every few hours I had interruptions and disconnections of all devices and the light on the mesh system turned orange. One solution to the problem is to access the settings of the ax3000's Wi-Fi through Xiaomi home and specifically in the internet connection mode settings and change the switch modes to dynamic IP internet connection so that the routing is done by the router as before and not by the ax3000. Since then, I haven't noticed any disconnections for now!
Good product. I bought it because I have the Xiaomi AX 3600 AIoT Router and since my house is big and I have multiple WiFi cameras, I obviously needed more WiFi signal coverage. Well, this does it as a professional Mesh Node should. It connected wirelessly without UTP, etc. directly to the Router and has created a WiFi Mesh Network.
It is easily set up through the mobile application as well as through the web interface. The web interface is preferable if we want to make simultaneous settings on the provider's modem. I have purchased the set of two and an extra one for the basement. The Xiaomi serves as the DHCP server and the provider's device is only a modem. If we follow the above solution, it is preferable not to leave DHCP on the Xiaomi's WAN connection because it causes problems. It is best to assign a static IP from the modem's subnet, of course. The second Xiaomi with mesh extends the network throughout the entire house. The third one is located in the basement, which is two floors below, and is connected to the TP-Link power line via Ethernet in the WAN port. All three were set up one after the other in the same space, a few meters apart from each other, and then placed in their final positions. This way, two floors, an attic, the basement, and the garden are adequately covered. Each floor is approximately 150 square meters.
I will not go into details because many people have already written about it. I use two of these, wirelessly connected with mesh on an ax3200 which acts as a router. They replaced two tplink (901nd and 801nd) after one of them died, which I was satisfied with but slowly, with the increase of connected devices and neighboring wireless networks, they started to struggle.
In summary:
If you haven't dealt with similar products before, it will take some time and reading to understand exactly what you need to do. It's not difficult, but if you're seeing it for the first time, you'll get confused. The mobile application helps a lot.
Its range is not the best on the market. It is good to use it in combination with another compatible device to create a mesh network. With proper placement, as much as the space allows, they can easily cover a house or different floors.
It saves you from the problems (instability, disconnections, low speed, etc.) of classic repeaters.
It can easily handle a large number of devices.
It is aesthetically pleasing and can be easily placed in any space without compromising its aesthetics.
It does not increase latency.
It has many functions for customization, but it lacks several that a more advanced user would want.
It is dual band and supports wifi6, so it is both current and future-proof.
For anyone who wants to use it as an Access Point (AP), the connection between the provider's router and the Xiaomi device must be made through one of the 3 Ethernet ports and not through the WAN (blue) port, otherwise it will automatically enter router mode. And when you try to switch it back to access point mode through the application or web interface, it will display the message "this function cannot be performed while mesh is enabled." Also, make sure to disable the DHCP server of the Xiaomi device. However, by doing this, the mobile application (Mi Home) will no longer work
The 80 square meter house is fully covered. With the obstacle of two walls, the wifi speed on the PC is 96 on a 100 mbps line. It is understood that Mesh alone is not enough for this, but a good card is also needed on the PC. The installation did not give me any trouble at all. Overall, very satisfied and would highly recommend it.
I bought them to use as access points, not as routers. The plan was to leave the TP Link from Cosmote as the main router, turn off its wifi, and directly power the xiaomi devices through the TP LINK's ethernet port. However, it was initially impossible because the xiaomi devices were factory-set as routers. Eventually, I managed to do it accidentally by intentionally entering the wrong password from the provider on the xiaomi devices, and only then did the system ask me if I wanted to set them up as access points. Eventually, I succeeded and they work great. I don't consider myself an average user, and I would advise anyone who doesn't know about basic networks to ask a professional or get something easier to set up.
First of all, the manual is 1/3 the size of my palm and you need a magnifying glass to read what it says. Furthermore, it doesn't explain exactly what you need to do and the instructions are vague and unclear. I followed all three methods mentioned in the instructions and none of them worked for me to connect it wirelessly. It only worked when I had it connected with an ethernet cable to my Vodafone router. It also doesn't provide troubleshooting, except for very basic ones, like if the lights are a certain color, then there is an error. That's it. I put it back in the box and in the cabinet. If I ever have the time and desire to do the crazy internet crawling needed to figure out how it works, I might do it. Maybe. Or I'll just get something easier to use. I do not recommend it.
Installation was done in a maisonette on the upper floor that had poor signal, replacing the tp-link 2.4 gigahertz which was giving me no more than 30 Mbps, while the xiaomi reaches up to 90. It is a very easy-to-use application, pleasant with many functions and capabilities, plus I also replaced the switch because it has three ports to distribute Ethernet, worth the money and it is half the price of the equivalent tp-link Deco
I bought this specific router for use as an Access Point. However, it doesn't support it (yet). It has an option to switch it, but it doesn't allow you to choose it, saying that this function is not possible while the mesh is enabled (There is nowhere to disable it). Eventually, I replaced the Mikrotik and set one of the two as the main router, with the other one connected to it.
Another complaint I have is that it doesn't show the firewall and its rules anywhere.
After the initial shock, now I am happy and feel upgraded
I have taken 3, one connected to the provider's modem (I closed its wifi), the next one entered in the middle of the distance, and the other one in the neighboring house where we wanted the internet to reach.
From a 50mbps line on the modem, in the neighboring house we see speeds above 45!!

After moving, while I had a working Unifi AP in a central location in my old house, in the new one it was a struggle because there was a hallway and 2-3 doors between the router and my office room, so the wifi performance was poor in both 2.4 and 5 GHz.
Depending on the mood, the speedtest on a 100 Mbps connection would give 1-30 Mbps, and when it dropped to 1, the connection would completely drop.
Today I connected this, following the instructions from a previous review that mentioned the need to switch the mode to AP mode during the initial setup, and indeed, it worked like magic right away:
The second node recognized on its own that it is a mesh satellite and did not require any configuration (except for disabling wifi6 because I'm not sure if it would work with older devices like printers, etc.). It connected wirelessly to the AP and now my laptop reports a speed of 1300/1300 Mbps on wifi, and the speedtest reaches full speed.
If it continues like this, we will be talking about a miraculous tool at a particularly competitive price! It also supports wired connection between satellites and AP for cases where it is really needed. Just buy it and add as many mesh satellites as your space needs, they will work immediately and the speed will skyrocket.
Well, this particular model that some of you say is good and perfect does not have good range. Anyone who wants signal range better buy something else. I did a speed measurement almost in front of the device and it showed 11.3 on a 24-line. I did a measurement at the same distance on my router and it showed 16.7. I am not satisfied and regret buying it.
If the reason you are purchasing this particular AP is to increase the range of your WiFi, then you will need to purchase at least 2 units and create a mesh between them, as I did not see a significant improvement with just 1 unit. However, even with just 1 AP, the stability and speed of the connection increase incredibly. I have connected numerous devices of various types to it and the connection is completely stable, while previously I had serious delays and ping spikes with the modem/router provided by Vodafone.
In other words, buy it without fear! It may seem expensive, but with the features it has, it is an extremely value for money proposition and the upgrade that will occur in your connection will make you want to buy a second one.
Note that for optimal results, you will need to disable the WiFi from your provider's modem/router to avoid interference and more.
It has three operating modes:
1. It can function as a router (in this case, you will need to remove the router you have from your provider)
2. As a repeater, it receives wireless signals from your router, amplifies them, and transmits them (in this mode, you cannot connect a satellite to the main unit. You cannot create a mesh network. You can only connect one piece. You just need to enter your wifi password. It's like connecting a mobile phone to your network. Difficulty level: zero)
3. As an access point, it transmits the signal it receives wired (via ethernet cable) from your router. In this case, multiple satellites can be connected to the main unit to create a mesh network between two or more units.
If the package you purchased is pre-configured, everything will be easy. You will connect one unit to your router with an ethernet cable. Then you will plug in the other unit and when they "see" each other with the main unit, you will take the second unit and move it wherever you want.
However, if the package you bought is not pre-configured or if you need to "reset to factory settings" in the pre-configured one, then it has a process to work again:
When you plug it into the socket, its factory setting is to function as a router. This will result in the satellites being able to "see" each other, but not being able to connect to the internet (via the ethernet cable with your router).
Therefore, after plugging in the first unit, you need to connect to it (either via ethernet on a computer or via wifi), open your browser (from the device you are already connected to), and enter the address bar: router.miwifi.com
This will take you to the device configuration page. There, after selecting the language and region, go to "internet connection guide". It will ask you to connect cables, etc. Ignore it and choose "continue setup without connecting..."
On the new page, you will notice in the top right corner it says "router mode" (this is the factory setting for it to function as a router). Click there and select "access point mode". After doing this, connect a regular port of your router (LAN) to the blue port of the Xiaomi device (WLAN) with an ethernet cable.
The upper light of the device will start blinking. After a while, it will stay steady in white. That's it. You have internet access.
Continue with the process. Set a name for your new network, wifi password, and once you finish, follow the instructions to connect as many satellites as you want to the "main" device (i.e., the other Xiaomi AX3000 devices). Now all you need to do is plug them into the socket when it's their turn to connect to your new network. Every time a satellite connects, the bottom light will initially stay permanently white (which means it is "visible" to the main device) and immediately after, the top light will also stay permanently white (which means it has internet access).
Once you complete the process, you can safely unplug them from the socket and move them to the desired location. The process is complete. You will not need to repeat it, even if you unplug the devices from the socket. It will only be needed if you reset them at some point to the factory settings (using a toothpick and pressing on the corresponding notch)
I got them to improve my network. Most IOT devices, even those from the XIAOMI ecosystem, do not connect. They do not always connect well with each other and lose connection. Two-story house, relatively close together. So I can't rely on them.
In the end, I'm using my old router, but they look nice so I kept them for their appearance and I will buy them again for decoration.
The set is ideal for avoiding the need to wire the entire apartment when the office is moved to the bedroom at the other end of the apartment and the router's WiFi does not reach. I had tried powerline (failed due to low speed/3-phase power), repeater (low speed, connection switching lag), 2nd router as an extender... All of these also had the additional disadvantage that mobile devices do not know when to switch from one WiFi (SSID) to another, resulting in their connection being lost for even >1 minute when moving around the house.
This problem is solved with mesh, as the access points themselves handle the roaming and any device does not even know that it is changing AP, always having the optimal connection and speed.
This specific set is (at least before 6 months ago when I bought it) one of the cheapest WiFi 6 on the market and there is absolutely no reason to go higher. Its speed is higher than most wired connections (and certainly much higher than the internet offered in Greece), it also has 3 comfortable gigabit LAN ports (I have connected the printer to the intermediate access point), and it can even replace the router in more basic situations.
For better connection, it is important for the access points to connect to each other via the 5GHz connection - there is an indication for this during setup, visible in the mobile application.
The only downsides I have seen during these months are that after a few days they may become unstable in the connection - speed decreases, they may even disconnect - possibly due to the constant IP change from the providers. The "solution" I have found is a convenient setting in the app to restart the access points every X days at a specific time - this way they have not presented any problems again.
The other downside is that its functions as a router are quite basic, even compared to the Zyxel provided by Nova, so I ended up using it as a slave to the main router, of course disabling the WiFi of the second one.

It's fine. I connected it to the cosmote router and it works flawlessly. To connect it to the router, you need to know your internet connection code (not the wifi one)
Coming from TP-LINK TL-WA1201 wifi5, I expected to see improvement... in everything... unfortunately, the improvement in range was only 1-2db. There is improvement in speed, from 42mbps to 50mbps. But I didn't want just that... the management is simple and with very few capabilities... I wouldn't buy it again
