I am a road runner. With times of 1'42" in the half marathon and 3'52" in the recent classic race. I recently started trail running, but very casually and not with trail running shoes, so I was looking for a pair for "beginners" in trail running. This is my second pair of ALTRA shoes. The first time I bought the TORIN running shoe. I normally wear size 45, but for running I definitely go for size 46. With the Torin, I regretted it because due to the company's design in the toebox, it was too big and comfortable. And my calves struggled due to the zero drop. For a trail shoe, I was torn between the LONE PEAK and the OLYMPUS, but the latter seemed too high for uneven terrain. So, I went for size 46 again, the reliable LONE PEAK, and so far I regret it only because of the size. It has a nice, low, stable footbed, which personally I prefer because the trail is not a road. The zero drop doesn't bother me so far, but I think I would have been perfectly satisfied with size 45. Four stars in the end.
