Mediocre tire, strictly for light use and not for demanding situations.
More specifically:
I have these Hankook Ventus Prime 4 tires on my Mazda 6 GG 1.8. I have only driven 3,000 km and from the very first city trips, the tire spins with the slightest uphill slope (e.g. starting from a traffic light on an uphill road). They do not grip well when cold.
On longer trips, where they warm up and reach their operating temperature, they are satisfactory for light use.Another negative point is aquaplaning (the phenomenon of speed reduction and steering wheel shaking when the tire passes through a puddle with a water level higher than the depth of the tire grooves).
This phenomenon is intense, it abruptly cuts speed and the steering wheel shake can surprise you. I would say it is within acceptable limits but requires attention.A positive aspect is the fairly low noise level. The first generation Mazda 6 is not known for its sound insulation, yet the tire noise is not annoying.
I will come back after a reasonable period of time to provide my observations on wear.
I replaced the Bridgestone Turanza T005 tires with these, which had left me completely satisfied and more. The comparison is definitely unfair, due to a different category, but perhaps inevitable since you lose a lot in performance.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?Purchase and installation on August 3, 2023. on a Fiat Punto Evo 1600 diesel with factory size 195/55/16 for 410€.
Nice smooth ride, comfort, and low noise. At 16,000 km that I have until today, November 12, 2023, signs of wear are visible but without any particular concern.PROS:
The grip on dry surfaces is great, although you can feel them floating under intense pressure - well below their grip limit, of course - but for simple everyday driving, they won't be a problem. The emergency braking, whether in a straight line or in a turn, is flawless, you stop exactly where you have calculated.
CONS:
In yesterday's rain on November 10, and on washed asphalt, they proved to be safe, but under pressure or abrupt changes in direction, they are not capable of holding properly, anywhere. Of course, you don't feel insecure, but they are three classes below the Michelin Primacy 4 that they replaced... A decent tire for its price, but it's not Michelin. Whoever tells you that they are on par with Michelin either doesn't know what they're talking about or just wants to sell them and get rid of them...
In heavy rain, especially in a turn, the car becomes unstable even with a few kilometers. If you drive straight through standing water, even 10 centimeters deep, there is no problem, but if the water is in a turn or only on the side wheels, you feel the "sliding" strongly.
Personal conclusion:
Just the suspicion of uncertainty or impending progressive slipping where the Michelin tires passed as if nothing was happening, prevents me from recommending them blindly and from buying them again...
They still have to prove their durability over time, although I don't see them lasting even 2 years with the wear they show on the tread...Translated from Greek ·- Grip on dry pavement

Did you find this review helpful? The worst tire I have ever tried from day one, they slide very hard even on dry roads, the car hits even the smallest pothole and with lowered pressure quite a bit from the first moment (I changed the suspensions in the meantime and I didn't see any improvement at all) and the most important of all is their grip on wet surfaces, I would call them ridiculous if not DANGEROUS. If you made the mistake of slightly pressing the brake on a downhill, it would slide (not only on downhill roads), really in the rain the car was uncontrollable, so I got rid of this moving danger and I relaxed. The only positive thing they have is that due to their hardness they lasted many kilometers, that's why it's a 1 otherwise 0/5 !!!

Did you find this review helpful?I only have 1000 km and unfortunately I am crying my money very hard. The car constantly hits the hard tires, the tire does not warm up and slips a lot. I even lowered the pressure to 27 in the hope that they would soften a bit, and of course I am looking to change them with the appropriate loss.

Did you find this review helpful?Very good first impression in the first 3000km. A class above in terms of grip compared to Yokohama es32, similar to Michelin Primacy 3, only those wore out quickly. Let's see when these will noticeably lose grip. I will come back at 15,000km.
Update at 15,000km.
Well, the car still has very good grip. Probably better than Michelin. In terms of wear, it started triggering the ABS earlier sometimes compared to the other tires, especially when it's cold, but the braking performance did not decrease. Lastly, they have the highest noise compared to the others.Translated from Greek ·- Grip on dry pavement

Did you find this review helpful?- This review is about the speed rating: V
It is very quiet now at the beginning, even at high speeds, very good directional stability and accuracy in direction changes, but in quick direction changes or sudden maneuvers, it seems to be a step below pilotsport 3,4. I will come back after 10,000-15,000 km
