Smyrna, September 9, 1922. 

Young Aristos Kogkalidis decides to leave his homeland and seek refuge with his family in Greece. He knows that the day of destruction is approaching and the only way to save themselves is to follow the path of exile. He is not afraid of the future, as he will take with him all those things that will allow him to start a new life: money, jewelry, and his precious treasure… However, young Gavrilis Ragioglou overturns his plans at the last moment in the worst way…

Athens, today. When the centenarian Christodoulos Ragioglou is murdered, retired police officer Manos Varsamis, an old friend of the victim, and psychologist Elsa Glinou take on the case. Those close to him come under Varsamis' scrutiny, as he believes one of them is the killer. However, when Elsa realizes that they are all connected to Smyrna, the balance shifts and the new facts lead to another crime and an attempted murder.

The past intertwines with the present and well-hidden secrets come to light. Who wanted to kill a man who was already at death's door? Manos and Elsa, in their effort to unravel the thread of this dark case, are called to look back to 1922…
