It has 2 switches at the back, one for hot and one for cold, so you can turn off the cold in winter and the hot in summer, resulting in saving electricity and reducing the noise it makes during cooling operation. You have hot-boiling water in 5 seconds from when you open it. The hot water switch has a safety button for small children. The best thing is that if both switches are off, the machine continues to bring water from the bottle with a standby consumption of only 0.9 watts. Time will tell about its durability, but it seems to be a quality construction.
