The first few days they were hitting me in the front of the ankle. As soon as I completely loosened the laces and the shoes gradually took the shape of my foot, they were perfect. I would say that the shoes are a bit heavy, but when you step down, especially on steep slopes, you don't strain your knees, waist, or ankles. As for shock absorption, they are very good.
