The book by Kenneth S. Krane, Introduction to Nuclear Physics, from its first edition in English in 1987 until today, is the most widely used textbook for teaching Nuclear Physics, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level in universities in the United States and the United Kingdom, and has been translated for use in higher education and in many other languages. It is divided into four major sections that cover introductory concepts and basic nuclear structure, nuclear fission and the phenomenon of radioactivity, nuclear reactions, and finally, the many and extremely useful extensions and applications of nuclear physics and related phenomena for humanity.
