You control Joseph Turok, a Native American warrior who has a mission to hunt down a rogue military company of which he was once a member. What you will mainly do in the game is fight dinosaurs, giant scorpions, flies, and lizards. It turns out that the planet is essentially a strange laboratory where species evolution has taken a different path.

You have at your disposal a fairly large arsenal consisting of a pulse rifle, a carbine, a rocket launcher, and more. At any given time, you can only have two weapons, but you can dual-wield several weapons at the same time.

In the game, there are several moments where you are prompted to quickly press a specific button to perform a specific move, such as breaking the neck of a small dinosaur on your leg or climbing onto a larger dinosaur and stabbing it in the head with your knife. These scenes are so well-designed that you will never stop enjoying them.

The story of Turok is very well-structured and will keep you engaged throughout the game, and when you finish it, there is the multiplayer mode which is very fun and has several different game modes, such as the well-known deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. What adds a special beauty to the gameplay is that there are several random events that change the course of the game, such as sudden dinosaur attacks. Additionally, there are several missions that you can play cooperatively with up to three of your friends, in which the action is much more intense than in single player mode, as the numbers of dinosaurs are multiplied.

Overall, Turok is a very good game for action lovers that has a lot to offer, and those who loved the old games in the series will not be disappointed.
