The book of Mao My Thoughts, or otherwise known as Mao's Little Red Book, was initially released as a manual for the Chinese People's Liberation Army, aimed at educating the troops and strengthening the revolutionary spirit... but its widespread dissemination began in 1966 as a fundamental tool, symbol, and spearhead of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution.

In addition to its resonance in revolutionary movements, Mao's Thoughts also acquired a "pop" character, during the peak of pop culture in the West and, by extension, worldwide, from whichever perspective you examine it: in terms of design, content, language, and its impact on political, social, and artistic culture not only in China but also in the countries of the first, second, and third world.
